Since Sunnylands closes over summer we decided to take a quick trip there before then. We had been there before but did not notice that there is a little garden walk/trail in the front that was very neat. The inside building is also very comfortable and had both male female and all gender single stall restrooms. There is also a small gift shop and cafe. We then explored the main gardens. We discovered a labyrinth maze made of flowering bushes. It would be neat to go earlier in the year when all the bushes in the maze are in full bloom. Overall it was a relaxing experience. As a note, a lot of people dress very nicely there so it might be advised to wear something nice, but it's not required. Read moreOur group took the house tour of Sunnylands and had a fantastic time. We really enjoyed the access to this amazing property and the knowledgeable tour guide. The Sunnylands property has a rich history of hosting diplomats and the famous in a classic mid century modern space. They have three different garden paths that are separated by the parking area. The main path is accessed directly through the building and what a treat. The other two are more of a nature walk with no real infrastructure. There's even a small art gallery and restaurant too. All of this is very nice and most impressively, free to the public. Parking is limited, which I believe is to keep the visitors to a manageable level. It's not for everyone though. If you're looking for activities or if you have little ones with lots of energy, a cactus garden might not make the most sense even...
