Palos Verdes Golf Club — Attraction in Rancho Palos Verdes

My experience with PVGC was extremely disappointing. As President of the Palos Verdes Junior Women's Club, I tried to work with their management to correct the severe service deficiencies we experienced at our Holiday Luncheon Fundraiser held at PVGC on December 3, 2017. The rooms were not set up as promised, there was no English speaking staff on site to assist with issues during the event set up, there were delays in preparation of the dining room, including their inability to find our specialty linens, the custom drinks were not as ordered, and the food was served with an allergen (onions) specifically identified in advance to the catering staff. We incurred overtime charges from other vendors due to the mismanagement of the staff who was largely absent during our event and when present overtly rude. Unbelievably, the response from their catering manager, Donna Myers, who was not onsite during our event, was to stonewall and deny all responsibility. She displayed absolutely no willingness to accept what were undeniable facts and offer any concession on the price of their poor service other than to offer us a discount on our next booking. That was laughable. As someone extremely familiar with hosting large events, I would not consider hosting a wedding or other important event there under any...

So I can’t review the venue in its entirety, because I only saw the outdoor patio area they have for weddings and/or banquets, ceremonies, etc… This golf club is tucked in the hills, off a beaten path in the middle of Palis Verdes. First of all… The little street it’s located on is very romantic and whimsical. Surrounded by beautiful trees and very well manicured homes of various styles…. It gives you a fairy tale setting from the get go… Parking wasn’t too bad. Considering there was a private event, golfers and the happy hour rush, I managed to find a spot without a hitch…. When I approached the outdoor area, it literally brought me to tears. There was a wedding/reception going on and the combination of the decor, the rose bushes surrounding the property and the amazing, breathtaking view of the ocean…. All of those perfect things combined with my raging hormones made my emotional wall come crumbling down. It was so damn beautiful. I wish I could rate the staff or the service, but unfortunately I can not. But the overall appearance of the venue and the spectacular sights this place has to offer… done. Sold. Would give 100...

The beauty of Palos Verdes Golf Club speaks for itself (gorgeous rose garden, stunning views, breathtaking floor to ceiling windows) and the staff is just as incredible! We worked with Megan as our PVGC point of contact for our wedding and she was so helpful, kind, and patient as she explained everything in detail to us. She was fast to reply and an excellent communicator both with us and our coordinator. Planning was a breeze with her! The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and our guests could not stop talking about how good it all was for weeks after our wedding. Multiple people told me that the steak was one of the best steaks they’ve ever had (which is really impressive for wedding food) and I wish I could eat their appetizers and late night bites again (we loved the ahi tuna app and grilled cheese with tomato soup shot the most). Everything PVGC did was better than we could have ever imagined and I am so thankful to Megan and everyone at PVGC for not only making our perfect day possible, but for making it better than we could have...
