This was a great place to learn about wildlife management practices of wetlands and why wetlands are so important to the environment. They also do cutting of specific habitat for American Woodcock, a species that is important in telling the health of an ecosystem. With my class, we were able to explore the marsh in waders to learn about the many species that are key to a successful wetland.

Simply beautiful. Well maintained and extremely picturesque. This is a wonderfully peaceful place to sit and contemplate, take a short pleasant walk or get out for an all day adventure hike. Take your pick there's something for you. It was never crowded or overflowing with visitors during my visit. A truly enjoyable diversion.

A stunning place. Enjoyed the hike through deciduous forest, pine, marshlands, & river views from a new pagoda. Check out native birds & enjoy the peace as you're far removed from civilization. Bring your rain gear, weather is very fickle!

Nature and wildlife at it's best. Deer Run Trail is a great 2.88 mile running trail from the Boland Road trailhead. Suggest you download the site's trail map to navigate the last 1/2 mile of the trail though, as you have to briefly leave the trail and cross over Fowler Rd, get back on the trail, then leave and cross over Boland at a different location to complete...
