Countryside Event Center — Attraction in Rantoul

My baby sister was just recently married.The venue was absolutely beautiful, and the upstairs perfectly for the bridal party. Being so close to an rv park, not my idea spot. The owner was very rude.. arms crossed and huffing and puffing the whole time, no smiles. Looked like it was an inconvenience that we were there. Ceremony had a little time delay to issues with the dress and the owner kept coming out looking up at the balcony shaking her head because of the delay. During the wedding pictures we had to keep a large black lab dog, im assuming the owners due to the fact itwas inside Friday while we sat up. The dog smelled and kept rubbing up against my sisters dress. Very hard for the photographer to get pictures without the dog. We had to clap and distract the dog. Also, we were assured that the food that was brought in would be placed back in the oven to reheat. They put it back in... but on warm, with tinfoil still on which In turn made the fried chicken slimmy and potatoes mushy. I'm not even sure they put all the food out. When we purchased soda, you were not given your can, they poured your soda into a small plastic cup with ice. Then kept what was left in can to fill another glass for next person. And then once they noticed a percentage of the people leaving (the ones with kids) THE owner started cleaning tables off. Tossing everything!! Special ordered napkins, goodie bags that were made for guest on the table. Stuff that was meant to be saved. In all I rate it a one star due to the host/owner. So many mishaps. People have bad days yes. But this was my sister's special day, and she spent quite alot of money on this place to be made to feel rushed, she had the place until 11. Placed cleared by 830-840. And she was on the road home by 950/10pm. Do better. Smile. Be happy...

The place was beautiful! The host was rude and kept making rude comments to my bridal party. When we set up she didn’t like the way we had it and got very rude with my fiancé about loosing her patience, which in other wedding that were done there they had the same set up. She got rude about putting table cloths on the head table when in other wedding they were allowed.. also got rude about the clean up when they were cleaning up and one of my sister in laws started to help clean they said “ they are just sitting outside while this poor girl is in here cleaning” and I was enjoying the scenery outside where I was sitting soaking the day in, also started cleaning up 2 hours before our end time. Couldn’t just sit and soak it in I was finally married. When I was getting ready with my photographer and doing pictures upstairs she barged in to come and look at how I looked I felt that was rude and intrusive when everyone was sent away. Also host made comments about were we outside sitting drinking our own beverages instead of paying for them. When we came Friday to set up we brought a lot of soda for the reception she then told us we were not allowed to bring our own soda that we had to buy from her. She did not disclose we couldn’t have brought drinks only no alcohol. So we had to take all the soda home Friday. Overall beautiful place but hosts was not kind nor made our wedding day...

Our daughter got married here in August. The venue is very reasonably priced and gives you time to decorate and make sure every detail is perfect. We had the wedding and reception inside. The upstairs made it so convenient for the bridesmaids, Mom's and herself to get dressed, hair, makeup done. Might I add the bathrooms are emaculent! Our food was able to be catered in , as well. Jeff and Kim were there to help the caterers with their way around the kitchen, so we didn't have to. They set up the table and chairs where we discussed before we started decorating. We collaborated with the Younds about our vision, and they helped guide us on how to use the space efficiently. We had several elderly people attend, and the parking lot is conveniently placed close to the building. Also, the DJ had more than enough room and outlets to set up his equipment. They offer a bar service for guest. They will discuss what kind of liquor you want to be served and order it. The Youngs property offered a wide variety of backdrops for the pictures.
