Honestly the worst experience I ever had at any event. I went several years ago but it still bothers me so I thought I would share It started out fine, I was one of only a very few people who knew about buying a little $5 glowing necklace that prevents the staff from touching you. I only got it as I know these types of places have bumpy areas and if I can’t see my footing at all I can easily hurt my osteoarthritic ankle. At first it was delightful, I went with two friends but I acquired a few more that also wanted to use the light the necklace provided on the ground for us. It was a fairly large group of people and no one else had known about the necklace so I had the only one. One of the attractions that we were all walking around, they had the whole large group stop together so the actors could walk menacingly around us. Then unprovoked and out of nowhere, one of them decided to single me out and loudly and effectively shame me for having it. I tried to defend myself but the damage was done. I felt so uncomfortable and humiliated after that and everyone that was enjoying hanging around me and my light slowly departed my company. Effectively making a leper at what was supposed to be a fun event. I pretended everything was okay as there was no way to just leave in the middle of it, but I wanted to crawl into one of their dark holes and die. I never expected a fun and cute horror farm experience to go so horribly wrong. I’ve been to many and never had an experience as depressing and unpleasant...
Read moreIf you want to have your EASTER SPIRIT disillusioned, go to Schaefer Farms in Flemington NJ! Not only do they overcharge you for a 5 minute hayride to and back from the Easter Egg Hunting Ground, ($10 for child and accompanying adult), their MOTO is focused solely on the "value" of obtaining the FEW (3 eggs to be exact, per two truck loads of 30 to 40 guests) GOLDEN EGGS, creating a remarkable high level of anxiety to both kids and parents! We were appalled by how much value was emphasized in obtaining these GOLDEN EGGS! We were equally flabbergasted by the staff and parents who fed into the motion to their kids successful Easter Egg Hunt, was contingent to obtaining the Golden Egg! Furthermore, each child was ONLY limited to TEN eggs, which they were instructed to strip and obtain the cheap candy and leave the eggs behind for the next victims! So, not only were the poor kids grossly disappointed that they did not find the Golden Eggs, they were ordered to leave the eggs behind to only carry the cheap candy in their beautiful Easter Baskets! Please feel free do the "rip off" calculation! We have been to multiple Easter Egg Hunts and the Schaefer Farms in Flemington, is by far, the most appalling and willing to disappoint children to earn...
Read moreA friend recommended that I call Schaefer Farms to purchase ducklings--I was looking to add a few to my flock. I was so excited to find a local farm that sells ducks so around 845 am yesterday morning I Googled their contact page and gave them a call. This is how the conversation went:
Schaefer Farms: "Hello?"
Me: "Hi. I saw on your website and heard from a friend that you're selling baby chicks. Do you have any ducklings as well?"
Schaefer Farms: Pause. "Well I believe it also says on our website that we don't open until 930am. And no, we're out of ducklings."
Me: "Thanks." Click.
I was so stunned at the woman's answer to my very simple question. If they weren't open yet, why did she bother to answer the phone? And no, Schaefer Farms, your contact page does not state your hours.
Running my own business, I know that every interaction with a customer is an opportunity to create a good impression. If this is how a staff member treats a prospective customer, I will definitely never spend my money there. And I certainly wouldn't have purchased their ducklings even if she had said they...
