Long Lake Dam Picnic Area (Lake Spokane) — Attraction in Reardan

OMG! I haven't seen a playground like this since I was a kid! A MERRY GO ROUND! man I use to throw my little brother off of them! Unfortunately I didn't do the slide. I climbed up 3 times I wanted to go down so bad! It was drizzling n I had leggings on. Just happened to stumble on it driving around due to a few bad weather days and cabin fever. I will b back! I miss being a kid and that's exactly how this park made me feel. Thank you.

I'm a little bias about this park...I live within walking distance, so I frequently drop in to get some fresh air and to get out of the house. The Long Lake Dam itself is a sight to see, the picnic area is a little patch of nostalgia with a rustic, down home feel. There's a swing set, a manual "merry go round" and a slide. There are metal grilling pits and of course the river... Occasionally the eagles or other wildlife make their appearances. Really awesome...

I would say the Longlake Picnic Area is pretty nice. There are multiple beaches in the area and this is the one for people not doing shady activities like theft and drugs. It is the parklike extension of the Avista Dam's driveway and has 24hour Surveillance Signs ~which I believe keeps bad people out and, because the bad people are out, the good people come in.
