The road is perfectly fine. Either it gets terrible during the winter, or the side-by-side boomers are trying to gatekeep this place so they can do donuts in the parking lot and destroy the trails in peace.

Trailhead to lake shore is a hair over 2mi and 1200ft of elevation gain. Loads of scrambling opportunities beyond that point. Gorgeous hike and lake. Not as busy as I'd expect, but lots of off-leash dogs and geriatrics cutting the switchbacks to show nature who's boss.

Probably worth avoiding during peak season / weekends but otherwise a lovely hike with a quick punch...

Glacier Lake Trailhead is a bit difficult to get to, it involves an 8 mile rocky dirt road that I would not advise in a low clearance car. Otherwise, getting to the lake and the trail itself is straight forward and an excellent hike. The hike itself is not very long, perhaps about 2miles up (we wandered shooting photos), and 2 back. However, while the mileage isn't hard, the trail can be a tough incline for someone not used to hiking. The lake is wonderful, decent amount of shade once you have come to the summit of the...

Beautiful trail to hike, was super foggy when we were there, would reccomend having 4wd as it’s about 7 miles on rocky dirt roads before getting there. The trail itself is only about 2 and a bit miles but the lake is super blue and cool. We also got to see a moose just a mile down the road from the start of...
