Whiskeytown lake is the most beautiful lake I have ever seen. It is so peaceful there and hard to take your eyes off of every inch of the area. Everywhere you turn there there's something amazing to be discovered. The lookout point by The visitors center is also a great place to see how much already of the lake from one location. from what I understand there are tons of different locations to visit there at the lake that offer different views and scenes. There is a little bit of walking and order to get close to the lake but nothing unreasonable. I highly suggest visiting this specific lake. It would be a shame if anyone had come to Shasta County and did not take a trip to this location. The locals and travelers that have visited here have always had the same reaction of complete awe. Great place for kids as well and it is perfect for hot summer days. I often see people reading books by the lake as well as swimming. Just thinking about it makes me want to go there right now. Is very peaceful and quiet so whatever you looking for I can guarantee you this has something to offer. Be sure to charge your phone because you'll be taking lots of photos and bring food with you as there are not many places around there to grab a...

Whiskeytown Lake is a must see in Shasta County. The swimming and boating here in the Summer is fantastic. The real gem here is the fishing and snorkeling though.

Bass (potentially world record Spotted Bass) fishing is excellent year round. Kokanee (landlocked Sockeye Salmon) fishing is non-stop in the Spring and Summer. Trout, catfish and panfish are readily available here as well.

Snorkeling is superb as the water clarity/ visibility is very good. Huge bass and clouds of sunfish are easily seen almost everywhere in the lake.

There are 3 boat ramps (Oak Bottom has a store), 2 marinas, a couple camp grounds, a few day use picnic areas, bathrooms and tons of off road parking areas with trails to excellent swimming areas. There are also reserve-able, private day use areas with bathrooms.

The greater whiskeytown unit has primitive camping on creeks and even gold prospecting opportunities for only $1! Passes are reasonably priced and unfortunately now the entire Whiskeytown Unit and lake is only usable by permit, but it is still very worth it for all the amenities.

I've personally taken 2 deer from the WU and bear and waterfowl hunting can be very good here as well....

Well, whiskeytown lake is just the one pictured here. Most of the photographs that do not have a lake, is just a genre I have been thinking about implementing in other Fine Art photography using the human body with different lighting to set a mood or theme. Its close to another niche I have been also wanting to have in my portfolio and it's known as Boudoir photography. I want to be able to show different areas of creating my art. Keep everything fresh and contemporary. I am going to put up other fine art photography that is not just women. Its my overall wide range of creative forms of Fine Art photography. More to come! Thank...

What to do in Redding, California 👇👇 We just got back from 4 days in Redding, California and it may be one of our new favorite basecamps for adventure. (A D) A big thanks to @visitredding for having us! 🏨 To see all of this - we stayed at @americanaredding. This hotel is centrally located so we could walk to most restaurants and easily take off from downtown to our adventure locations. 1️⃣ Explore some local waterfalls We were able to see NINE waterfalls while we were here! All waterfalls were within an hour or so from Redding. There is even a waterfall loop you can take to see them all. Some of our favorites were McCloud Falls trail, Faery Falls, and Burney Falls. 2️⃣ Check out local events It seemed like there was always something going on downtown! While here we stopped by their annual car show and @glowingwild_redding, a pop up to honor the Year of the Dragon, which ends May 26th. 3️⃣ Explore Whiskeytown Recreation Area This area is just a 30 minute drive from town and is a stunning area for hiking and outdoor recreation. We highly recommend hiking to Whiskeytown Falls in particular! 4️⃣ Kayak at Whiskeytown Lake Head to the marina and rent kayaks to explore this beautiful lake. We had a great time paddling to the various islands and getting some sun. 5️⃣ Visit Shasta Lake Shasta Lake is just a 20 minute drive from Redding. This is a great spot to rent a boat or jet skis and explore the lake! If you have more time in the area or visit in the summer months when more hiking is available- check out these spots too: 🏔️ Tour Lake Shasta Caverns 🥾 Hike at Castle Crags State Park 🏞️ Visit Lassen National Park 🥾 Hike near Mount Shasta, Heart Lake was highly recommended! #redding #reddingcalifornia #visitredding #californiatravel #california #besthikes #outdooradventure #optoutside #westcoast #westcoastroadtrip #californiahiking #waterfallhike #lakeshasta #burneyfalls #mccloudfalls #lassenvolcanicnationalpark #sunniestcityincalifornia
