I love it here. On this particular trip, we were out collecting old firewood & my boyfriend was bit by a copperhead. Luckily I rushed him to the hospital. He was given anti-venom & had a long hospital stay. The campground reimbursed us for 2 nights. I personally think it should've been more nights because there weren't any signs posted about copperheads. This was less than 2 weeks ago. Now there are signs posted.

Great place to go for a walk, picnic, BBQ and camping. This one of the best spots where one can fly a kite in the Reston area. For large events the pavilions can be rented to host a gathering. There are many picnic benches around that can be used for small picnics. There are large camp grounds in a separate part that he used to camp or with an RV. The lake has paddle boats that can be rented.

WARNING ALL FISHERMEN Lake is not suitable for fisherman. If you are even thinking about casting out in this lake think twice. The amount of overhanging branches and seaweed in the lake itself makes the retrieval of lures nearly impossible. Other than that family friendly environment,...
