Columbia Ridge Winery — Attraction in Ridgefield

Today, my husband and I visited the Columbia Ridge Winery for the very first time. It is located In the middle of 10 acres of vineyards right outside of Ridgefield, Washington. There are beautiful, comfortable outdoor seating areas that are cozy, well designed, with gorgeous hanging baskets throughout. In addition, there is a beautiful tasting room inside with wide open doors that allow the outside in. Other huge pluses were the outstanding service ( shout out to Heidi!), Remarkable wine (we enjoyed a bottle of the 2010 Syrah) and delicious food. Just look at this picture of the pizza we ordered and devoured and tell me your mouth isn’t watering. It wasn’t a 10/10…it was a 15/10. But wait, there’s more! During the summer on Saturday afternoons from 2 to 4pm there is live music. The very talented and versatile Robby Mayer was playing today. This winery is so beautiful and has so much going for it that after just one visit it rose right up to one of our favorite local wineries. Great chilled vibes with friendly staff all set to mellow music provided by Matt Brown. Excellent venue at this close-to-home winery . The smaller entrance to CRW is easy to miss for first-timers, as you roll up and down the undulating hills on 199th St. Once there , parking is located up the short driveway , just outside the events building. The setting , overlooking the vineyards provided the perfect ambiance for the afternoon outing. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Wine selections were limited and enjoyable. I particularly like the Syrah. Food was basic and tasty but not the highlight of the afternoon. The chillaxed ambiance , cozy venue and super -friendly service is what Columbia Ridge is all about. Handicap Doable and recommended for level surfaces and open spaces. Fantastic Friday evening experience! The grounds are very serene and beautifully landscaped. We sat outside on the new extensive patio, tables with umbrellas scattered with a lot of spacing. There are even a few Adirondack chairs and also a separate covered table off to the side. The flight of 5 wines was only $10 and there is a wide variety to choose from, some grown on site. Angela and Julie were so friendly and took time talking to us, and their black cat prowls around waiting for pets. We ordered the Muffeletta sandwiches which were delicious.
