Have stayed here multiple times in past. Three weeks ago was told I needed to book online so I did for this past weekend when coming down to visit family and friends. I’m a disabled Veteran so used distinguished Veterans pass to book campsite week before arriving. No one at front entrance when I come in so I go to my site and set it up and go visit family. Next day after visiting friends i come back and someone at front so I mention that I’m staying and booked online. Was told the camphost was wondering who was set up in that site. So when I get to my site my tent is pole from rainfly is removed and sat on ground and tent is smashed up with all my stuff in the middle. As if someone came and tried to move all my stuff. On top of that after re setting stuff up I go in to check my stuff is all there and got a two inch tear along bottom of tent. I’m assuming it was to heavy and you tried to drag it. Question is why are you that incompetent that you don’t check and know if there is any online reservations? You should know who’s coming in thru that if your online. I sure hope you lose all credibility and the ability to be a camphost again. You do not deserve it at all. Wrote a note and left for you but still no apology or anything, just drove by...
Read moreA lovely afternoon here at the California State park along the Stanislas River in Ripon, CA. USA. Serene and tranquil and just lovely is our visit here for the first time. Just 20 miles out of Stockton California we headed south to Rippon California to this lovely park where we enjoyed the surroundings the serenity and the moos of the nearby cows grazing. I bought large live red worms at a bait shop in Stockton anticipating doing some fishing on the river, and after my first cast unfortunately I got a snag and lost my tackle. The current is Swift this time of the year and we enjoyed a lovely picnic with a bottle of wine along the banks of the river. We intend to visit again hopefully for camping in the summer months, and I will try doing some fishing again. Lots and lots of beautiful hiking here. I recommend visiting if you’re by yourself or with a special someone, or with a group of people. Day use parking was only $10, and $12 on holidays. There are plenty of picnic tables barbecues and restrooms for all to enjoy. Camping requires a separate...
Read moreMy family and I go camping every year as a tradition! This was our first visit here aswell! When we first got here and one of the (rude) lady staff members who actually live there told us we can’t have more than 3 cars in a campsite! After we got that all sorted out... the bathrooms DID NOT LOCK! I had many people who walked in on me which is unpleasant! I would recommend bringing one of your friends or family members so that they can watch the door for you... One of my family members reported to the staff that the bathroom doors don’t lock, and she said that it’s not in the budget! Despite the wonderful trees which make 100 degrees feel much BETTER, there are many many bugs and mosquitoes in this camp ground. I atleast got 20 bites on my each of my lower feet, 20 on my upper thighs, and 20 on my arms! I was told this camping area had no mosquitoes and bugs! Overall, if you want people to open in on you while you are doing your business, have rude staff that are NOT HELPFUL, and 60 bites on you body... then this is for YOU! Otherwise,...
