To say that my family and I had an AMAZING experience is an understatement.

The owners, Carol and Marty, are the absolute nicest, down to earth people you will ever meet. They come and greet you personally once you arrive and make sure you have everything you need and this is a great moment to ask any questions about the local areas etc.

We stayed in Cabin 1 in July 2018 and I very much enjoyed seeing the mountain view every single morning as I sat in the screened patio out back. The cabins were EXTREMELY clean! Which is usually the first thing I'm worried about. The bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and lounging area were all spotless. There is no cable so you can grab DVDs from the common area, but we literally never stayed inside long enough to even watch TV anyways. They do have WiFi in the cabins/common area. We got the Romantic Package that comes with Mom B's Cinnamon twists that you just HAVE to taste to understand how delicious they are, they leave it for you nice and hot in a basket outside your cabin door the morning after your visit and it also comes with a complimentary gift basket with treats like beers and/or wine, chocolate covered strawberries, cheese and crackers etc. they leave it in the fridge for you which is such a nice touch after a long drive (we drove up from Boston, MA about 3 hours).

They have thought about everything here. They set up the campfire for you (we fired it every single night and they would rebuild it by the next night - unlimited wood to keep it going all night!) , they have a porch swing with an amazing view (my daughter and I loved sitting there in the mornings), hammocks, hot tub (best hot tub ever! super clean! I went in the early mornings for some alone mommy time), fully equipped kitchen (which was a money saver instead of going out to eat every night), the common area has movies, games, puzzles for quality family fun, they have berry bushes and a nice trail walk.

The hot tub, common area (washers and dryers included) are open at ALL hours! How amazing is that?!

There are many shops, farms - pony/horseback rides - for the kids, restaurants and sights in the nearby area, but the best part is that the lake (Branbury State Park) is only about 25 minutes away! We went every single day as a way to end the nights before the campfire, and then we would come back and all get in the hot tub to warm up.

We have lifetime memories here now that my kids and husband still talk about.

My husband and I have been on the hunt for a secluded rural cabin area where we can enjoy our family time and we finally found it!

We are planning on making this our official annual cabin trip with the family!

Thank you so much Carol and Marty for making such amazing Mountain Cabins that our family can enjoy completely worry/hassle free!

*Note: Print the directions as there is no cell range as you get higher into the mountain and your GPS might also not know where it's going (ours couldn't figure it out - thankfully I printed the directions lol) since its in a pretty remote area off a dirt road. Totally worth it!

The 7 RFM Cabins are in an idyllic setting. They are beautifully crafted with wood from the property. The woodwork inside is outstanding and we would recommend just "taking in" the beams, finishes etc.

We staying in Cabin #6. There was parking for one car. Outside outlets allowed us to charge our electric car. Our view from the front kitchen window was of the access road, a generator and small building. Our screened back porch contained a table and six chairs with a view of the woods and private fire pit.

The cabin had a full size fridge, microwave, utensils and cookware. Cleaning supplies were provided under the sink. There weren't any cabinets open for our dry goods, so plan on using counter space or one of the many spaces in the two bedrooms.

The bedding and mattress were of high quality. The bed was very comfortable.

The kitchen seats 4 and the tabled expanded for the 2 of us to start a puzzle while still using it for meals.

The living room included a gas fireplace, HD Smart TV, window seat, couch and rocking chair. The living room furniture were the ONLY place where there was room for improvement. The futon couch was very uncomfortable and low to the ground. Being that were are the on the wrong side of age 50, we would have loved a normal couch and/or recliners.

The cabin is only 5-6 years old and the owners built with care. The windows all worked well and we could tell the cabin was well insulated because it "breathed" if a door was opened/closed and when the morning sun warmed the cabin in the morning.

The cabin had heat and AC and we very much appreciated since we have found many accommodations in VT that forgo AC.

Although we weren't able to make use of the fire pit, the owners provide free wood and equipment for making s'mores.

Nearby, there is a large common area equipped with comfortable furniture, games, DVDs, tea, coffee, restrooms, a hot tub and more.

Outside was a panoramic view of the mountains, hiking, hammocks, giant fire pit and more.

On moonless nights, you will experience "advanced darkness" with zero light pollution. We recommend bringing a powerful flashlight and blanket and walking to the common area to lie on the ground and gaze at the stars.

It is apparent that the owners have gone to great lengths to create a welcoming destination with nearly every amenity you could expect from a luxury hotel/lodge.

We have travelled throughout Vermont and have stayed at many cabins, hotels, AIRBNBs, bed and breakfasts, and RVs. RFM Cabins is by far the best place we have stayed. We hope to visit again with...

Update for 2024: We went back to Robert Frost cabins with our two kids and two dogs. It had been some time since our last visit, but it felt like coming back home. Carol and Marty were as welcoming as they always have been and we were excited to find that very little had changed since our last visit. The cabins are beautiful, the property is only improving, and it still fosters solitude and joy. Truly, if you're debating a visit, I cannot recommend this place enough. I wish I could give a higher review, or an individual review for each stay. Do yourself a favor and book your stay now.

Back in 2017: Returned to Robert Frost Mountain Cabins for our fourth visit, and brought the whole family along to celebrate our upcoming addition to our family! Rented out all 5 cabins and the loft to throw a baby shower and it was amazing. Marty, Carol, and their staff went out of their way to make sure everything went off without a hitch, accommodating 20+ people for the day and night. Every person who came said, without question, that they would be visiting the cabins again.

I cannot recommend these cabins highly enough. They're beautiful inside, cozy with plenty of features for anyone looking for that warm, comfortable place to just get away from it all. The location is remote and quiet, with plenty of outdoor options (even with a foot of snow on the ground) to keep even the most active person busy. At night, the stars come out, and even on an average night you'll see a meteor or two.

What really puts this place over the top for us, and keeps us coming back, is Marty, Carol, and their staff. Friendly, helpful, accommodating, and always on the lookout for making your stay wonderful. We've never had a better vacation than going to the cabins, and they've become our home away from home. We look forward to going back with our family for...
