One of my favorite, most gorgeous, hidden gems. They're cleared a new road/path recently that was way friendlier to drive on than that road going down, along the power lines. I would suggest a vehicle with a little umph and clearance whichever on you choose. We still prefer to park at the top of the hill and hike down but all of the above depends on how you get there since there's a few road options. Just bring some bug spray, water/snacks and a sense of adventure and you'll be fine.
FYI... this is a spot for atvs and dirt bikes so just step aside and wave bc they're all super friendly and out there having fun 😀
We've gone with kids 3-10 and they did great. I went 38 weeks pregnant and was slow but managed just fine with good shoes (it's dusty and steep-ish in spots). The creek before the dam is perfect to cool off and play in and there are several areas/trails to explore and adventure to. Anywho... it's lovely and we always enjoy it 😍 and great...
Read moreThis is a very serene and pretty place. It is labelled as a dam when in reality it is a slow moving and shallow stream that is one deep at most and splits to go down in two separate water falls. It was a great picnic spot and the kids had fun playing in the water. It was worth the hike. It is a hard 1 mile hike for kids and most people get there by dirt bike or side by side. Bring lots of water as there is little shade. Take the path most downhill to get there. All-trails app...
Read moreWe accidentally took the hard way down... We followed the power lines until the trail ended. Then we proceeded to follow a game trail down along the fence. It was super steep and the dirt is very loose. It caused some minor injuries as we are walking along a barb wire fence. What we should've done, is turning left at any of the 3 split off points on the main trail. It would've taken us to the dam waaaaaay safer. It was an...
