It's a park under construction in Summer, 2024. It looks to be very nice with the picnic tables and playground equipment being installed. The industrial surroundings are not park-like at all but do give this place a unique vibe. It's interesting to be up so close to an old steel mill and power plant. Views of the skyline are blocked a bit by the new bridge, but both are interesting to see.

First time going to this park. The man at the gate was very pleasant. There is a $5.00 fee if you are not a resident of River Rouge. They have a boat launch there. It was nice to be able to see the new Gordie Howe Bridge from the park. Has a nice play area and rest rooms there. Also has porta potties as well. Nice park with benchs to sit on. Great place to watch the freighters go by.

Woahhh... It's 2019 lol What a blast from the past! A payphone that actually still exists! And in working order too! Unbelievable lol I had to get out of the vehicle and stick my finger in the coin return too, for one last time in my life 😀 I'm assuming only. I'll probably not see another ever lol P.S. Check out the directory too y'all

Quite the little gem on the river near US Steel in River Rouge. One large pavilion with 3 picnic tables provides plenty of shelter for a small to medium gathering. Rent for the pavilion is $100 for the whole day and that covers admission fees for all. Otherwise, the fact that you need to have a city pass to enter, keeps unwanted loiterers from interrupting your party. Plenty of shade trees near the shelter. Only minor complaints about above ground tree roots that can trip you up if not paying attention, mosquitoes galore (and they're the silent and deadly type) and goose poop everywhere. Playground for the kids, fish from the pier or just enjoy hanging out near the water. Literally, rent the pavilion and you have the entire park...

New to the Detriot River Walleye fishing. I've been to two others and know there are a few more out there, but what I liked is that once they opened, it went pretty quick. But the long road leading to the launch was almost full when we arrived. It gave everyone a chance to get their boat prepared for launch. It also gave us time to grab everything you wanted to take out with you. I know that every time we went out, we didn't forget anything. So, I guess my fellow fisherman should get a big share of the credit for the 5 stars. Thanks for being patient and for your consideration of others. Good luck and vertical...

I would give 5 stars if there wasn't admission charged. Or charge only for those needing mooring. I just wanted a good view of the Gordie Howe bridge and was there for less than 1/2hr. Regardless, the view of the bridge did not disappoint. The little lighthouse is cute but there's nothing telling its story. Instead the sign board talks about the ship building that used to take place nearby, including that of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Again, too bad they charge admission for those just...
