Chestnut Ridge Trail — Attraction in Roanoke

This is an okay hike if your main intention is to just get out and exercise with your family. However, naturalists will be disappointed because this trail has the worst invasive species problem I have ever seen in a natural area. The native flora is sparse because it’s been completely smothered by invasives.

This is a good place to go for an easy walk in nature or a trail close to home/the city without driving too far! The trail follows closely to the roads so that can be stressful as far as not being able to get away from the sound of traffic, also passing behind people's houses on Yellow Mountain Road.
