We had an incredible day on the pontoon! The staff was kind, funny, and welcoming, teaching us how to operate the boat, covering safety, and giving great tips on where to explore. They even filled our cooler with ice and let us use a golf cart to grab supplies. The boat was spotless, the scenery was beautiful, and tubing was the highlight — our kids (11 to 13) had an absolute blast. Perfect family fun from start to finish. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Love the "secret side of the smokys". Very quiet, beautiful, and unproblematic way to enjoy the nature of the Smokys. The shop was open 24/7 for anything we forgot. The lazy river and pool were great and not very crowded. My cottage was super cute. Lots to do at the village and the staff was great. Will return!!

We will not be staying at the Fontana Village Lodge and marina again because of the rude behavior and dangerous practices of the manager of the marina.

The lodge is wonderful. We stayed in a cabin that is pet friendly. Really pet friendly! The lodge allows you to sit on the deck with your pets and enjoy a great grill menu.

The marina is very nice and the staff are very helpful and accommodating. They helped us with a golf cart to get our gear from our car to the pontoon boat and helped load the boat.

The pontoon boats are very basic. No guages at all. No gas gauge, no gps, no speedometer, no VHF radio. Some have a tachometer but ours didn’t work. So, once you leave the dock, you are on your own. There is no cell phone service on the lake so you are really on your own.

My wife and I booked a cabin at the resort for two nights and a pontoon boat for three days. The marina staff set up a tab for us and gave us a 15% discount for staying at the resort and renting a boat for three days.

The problem is the lack of professionalism of the marina manager. At the end of the second day, the manager came out and accused us of walking our tab the first day. He had an 80 lb. husky who was not on a leash, so there was a confrontation between the manager’s dog and our two white labs who were both on leashes. My wife had to get out labs back on the boat to avoid a dog fight. The manager refused to honor our 15% discount and began accusing me of calling him a liar when I insisted on the marina offered the discount. His dog started barking at me, so I asked for the tab for the two days we used the boat and cancel the third day. He then said he was going to charge me $50 for cleaning the boat each day and $75 for cancelling my reservation for the next day.

The staff had helped us with a golf cart to get our coolers and such from the parking area to the boat on the first day, but the manager refused to help us with getting our gear back up to our car on the second day. We could, however, use the golf cart ourselves to get our gear back to our car. For the marina to force customers to operate unfamiliar vehicles in tight quarters is plainly unsafe. Allowing the staff to let their dogs run loose at the marina is plainly unsafe. To offer one price for use of the marina amenities and then change the price offered is unprofessional. It is unprofessional for a company to invest so much money and human resources in a business and then let one person run amok damaging the...

This is my third visit to Fontana Village. This place is a hidden gem!

The first visit was about 20 years ago when the marina was much smaller. My 2nd visit was during the total solar eclipse. Both boat rental experiences were very good.

Unfortunately, my third experience, I’m sorry to say, was very poor. Went to rent a boat today and their credit processing machine was down. I didn’t have the cash on hand. Stan, was not cooperative at all. I offered to provide my CC information along with my license to be used when their systems came back online.

Normally I can also charge the rental to my room at the village resort, which they normally can do.

Stan was indifferent and insisted I drive 30 minutes RT to an ATM instead.

I decided to go to another marina (Alarka) and had a much better experience (you can read my review). I expect to rent a boat for another full day and will be going to Tony’s at Alarka. I won’t be visiting this marina ever again after being treated, even as a repeat...

First time renting a pontoon boat for the day at Fontana. When we arrived the guy (Im sorry, I didnt get his name) was super helpful, professional, friendly. Showed us everything we needed to have a great and safe experience. The boat itself was in great condition, as well as the tube and line. Fontana Lake is pristine. So clean and gorgeous, unspoiled beauty, we had a wonderful day tubing, swiming and exploring. As soon as we arrived back, 3 guys greated us and helped unload and chatted and very friendly. We had a wonderful day and would definitely go back. I wish all places were as professional, knowledgeable and friendly as the staff at...
