Katy Trail - Rocheport Trailhead — Attraction in Rocheport

So I have not been to all the Katy trailheads...but this has to rank in the top 10. Has the usual benches and maps and signage. Seasonally has water fountain and bathrooms. Local businesses may be open for other needs. Go one direction down the trail and there's a cool train tunnel and a walkway to a view of wetlands, and option to hike up a hillside trail to a literally breathtaking view. Going the other way on the main trail you will shortly be walking parallel to the big river, the mighty Mo, on one side and towering bluffs on the other. Go a bit further and you can eventually see and walk under the I-70 bridge. Ample parking day or night, people spouting Howdy Neighbor, come on down to Rocheport and have...

The Katy Trail Rocheport Trailhead is nestled within the quaint historic town of Rocheport.

Rocheport has been labeled one of "Missouri's best kept secrets" and the unique nature and feel of the town is apparently why. The town itself has a unique and stunning blend of historical preservation and progress, the look and feel of which is visible from the trailhead itself. There are some very stunning homes and buildings here, and the overall area of Rocheport has a cohesive, yet unique blend which makes it stand out from other towns on the Katy Trail.
