It's a great place to go to school, but, finding a job after is super hard. I graduated in 2013 with a writing degree and I've not yet found a job in my field. I apply to 15,000 jobs a year. Some years 20,000 across the lower 48 and tefl jobs. Getting a degree in the arts is a mistake. Do not get a writing degree if you go here if you value being able to keep a roof over your head.
Edit Jan 2018: Some of the life skills they teach are invaluable, but the reason people go to a university is so that they can get a middle class job once they graduate. You're essentially renting the school's reputation to get your first job. For the Writing and Rhetoric program, there was no reputation and it was essentially valueless in that way. I was stuck doing menial positions for years following my graduation. Skill set wise my Writing and Rhetoric degree has been very useful. Monetarily, not as much. To anyone reading this, I'd recommend picking a degree in a STEM field. I had to spend 5 years after graduating learning how to build websites and code in lua & java, as well as digital marketing skills to actually get a real job. If I'd picked a STEM degree, I'd be something like 100k richer and be much further along in life right now.
The university was my favorite place on earth during my time there. It was a very fun place to go to school and some of my favorite memories in my life happened there.
If You Do Choose To Go With An Arts Degree. Go To Local Temp Agencies Like Kelly Services, Manpower & Others. They Will Help You Find Job & Avoid Wasting Years Looking On Job Boards Like I Did. Remember, if you get offered what looks like a great job on craigslist. There is probably a caveat.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe worst administrative building ever. I sent over all of my transcripts to them and they received all but one, (which was sent to the same address) so they lost it, didnāt notify me of that I needed to do anything else or that there was something suspicious. Finally I called to see if I was accepted or not after waiting 2 weeks. They wouldnāt help me speed the process up at all so I had to resend the transcript and then wait another two weeks until I found out I was accepted. I had my financial aid in to them in the beginning of June for the fall semester and all the documents needed for them to process it. As Iām writing this itās the second to last day to pay for college before I get cut out of my classes and Iām still waiting on my financial aid to go through. Iāve called them almost every day asking if itās gone through or if there is anything else I can do to to help it get processed faster. Iāve been told numerous times thereās nothing else I can do and I just have to wait for them to process. Iām going to be cut from my classes because they havenāt processed my financial aid thatās been in for months. Iāve had everything done with more than enough time for them to DO THEIR JOBS. My whole future is going to be altered for their mistakes and incompetence. Iāve been on the phone with multiple customer service representatives and only ONE has been friendly to me. The rest do not care about the students going there. Everything that could go wrong at this college has, and Iāve never had any problems before at a college. It was the worst mistake of my life to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf they canāt get enrollment right, you might want to find another school. Schools do not really want to help students succeed. I never enrolled in a school that could not help you with the enrollment process. The graduate department was one person Named Kelly, who not help with application. She had no technical knowledge of the process, and could not help if you had trouble. No mirroring process was available and no other methods she said could be done to troubleshoot. After calling back a few times to the department to get help, they stopped answering my calls, and was sent to voicemail. At no time was this ever escalated or mentioned what could be further looked into to complete this process. They could not find my transcript after being sent electronically. They could help me with my recommendations and why they could not send back emails. They could not guide me through adding more recommendations. They are not in the businesses of graduating students, they are not aiding others...
