As a park goes its awful. Only reason this gets good reviews is solely due to the cider mill located across the street and the fishing. What this park doesn't have is a playground or anything of that nature for the kids, a pavilion or any form of shelter, and basically anything else found in a real park. There's some picnic tables and some grills and that's about all you get here. Another reviewer stated its a launch site for kayaks and yes you can paddle off here but its not an official launching point and offers no info or maps typically found at designated sites. Now it may sound like I dislike it here or have some personal vendetta but that isn't the case at all, I actually really enjoy coming here when I go to Yates Cider Mill or to fish from time to time. I'm sorry If my review seems harsh but it's just the facts. If you enjoy places that basically offer nothing as far as entertainment or activities, piles of dog crap, and garbage from lazy, ass self-absorbed people who enjoy nature enough to fish but not enough take their empty worm container or fishing line w/ them then you will love it here. Seriously what is so hard about taking you garbage w/ you and why do you feel so special that you can just leave it for someone else to...

Embedded within the embrace of nature, Yates Park is a serene sanctuary where the river dances in harmony with the earth's tranquil beauty. As sunlight filters through the verdant canopy, dappling the gentle currents below, one can't help but feel a profound sense of peace and connection to the natural world. Here, time seems to slow, allowing visitors to immerse themselves fully in the gentle rhythm of the flowing river and the whispering breeze through the trees. Yates Park is not merely a destination; it is a sanctuary for the soul, a place where the beauty of nature invites us to pause, breathe, and appreciate the wonders that...

The absolute BEST Cider Mill around no doubt. The cider is far better than anywhere else. It must be in their Apple mix?!? The Cider donuts are always soft & fresh and cover in cinnamon/Sugar. Love the fresh apples from the orchard. On top of all The great eats, they have the best setting and walking trails. We love our annual fall trips with the kids & dogs. Too bad the tree We always used for an annual picture has tipped over & fallen into the river. Such a bummer. Great trails along the river that aren't too difficult to get to for the younger kids and older adults, but yet provide...

This little park is wonderful for getting close to nature. There is a small shoreline, shallow areas for playing in the water. Lots of grassy area for dogs to run. They do a good job at keeping the area clean and they are working on preserving the wildlife. I haven't used the little restroom this year, if it's even open, but it's not really the greatest😜. Yates Cider Mill is right across the street with ice cream and donuts and some wonderful trails that are usually shaded by trees.

Best cider in Michigan. They used to pasteurize their ciders so it had slight unpleasant flavor but now they do UV treatment instead so cider is fresh and lasts a while. Also have a very nice nature trail. The loop takes about 30-40 minutes. Gravel trail is wide but nature trail is narrow so please exercise trail etiquette and let the faster group pass. It is frustrating stuck behind people walking really slow for 20 minutes.
