Quarry Hill Park — Attraction in Rochester

I grew up near State Hill as we used to call it before it was turned into a beautiful park now known as Quarry Hill. The caves were all open back then, and occasionally, you'd come across a wandering patient (or so we thought) from the State hospital next door. The Federal Medical Center now occupies that site. A wonderful nature center that offers a great FREE afternoon of fun, learning, and exercise. Everything their was clean, well maintained, and informative! My 5 and 11 year old spent a hour just checking out the fish, amphibians, birds, snakes, and insects. The trails outside were very nice and vary in difficulties. We did pay $4 a person to go on the cave tour. The tour guide was very nice and informative. The cave was interesting since it is man-made and offered a very interesting historical context to the area. A must visit if your hanging out for a few days...
