A bit pricey but cost less than Copper Creek and Burt's Farm. They have a short hay ride where you get to pet and feed cows, we saw one who had just given birth to a calf only hours before. They have corn cannons to win pumpkins if you can hit the target to dunk the pumpkin. They have quite a large pumpkin patch and pumpkins of all sizes for sale. The largest pumpkin they've had thus far was 200lbs. They have lots of shade and picnic areas, a playground for smaller children, slides for larger children, ring toss, life-sized connect four, water pump rubber duck races, ball tosses, basketball hoops, football toss, animal shaped bouncy balloon things kids can jump on. Adarondack chairs around a fire pit for adults. Concession stand for snacks and cold drinks in the shade. The corn maze was fun and the very first our kids had ever been to. Plenty of animals from cows and steer to lambs, goats, chickens, hogs, and donkeys to feed and pet. It was a great time for all and an excellent way to get the kids to run off...
Read moreWe have visited this farm several times over the years and each time it is a special adventure. Sometimes with the family, other times as part of a school field trip and most recently as a den leader with my Cub Scouts. I have to say they are always nice and have several activities to keep the kids busy. But what I really came on here to tell every one is that I found the perfect secret ingredient for baked Mac n Cheese. We had purchased one of their (yes it's not cheap) gallons of milk that come straight from the cow's teet (can't get any fresher but unpasteurized and labeled for pets only) and my husband used the milk in his homemade baked mac n cheese and holy cow - it was hands down the creamiest and yummiest mac n cheese we have had to date. So, if you are planning on making some homemade mac n cheese, THIS is the milk to use in your recipe. I have a feeling that my husband is going to make a special trip up there each time now when he plans on making his famous mac n cheese. Thanks...
Read moreOne of the great blessings of our lives has been Carlton Farm and the generosity toward its community is incalculable. We began going with a preschool class trip and continued every year for a decade now. Not to mention the restorative role the farm plays in connecting people to healthy foods and farmers who treat the earth and animals right. The joy of my children asking when we can next go to the farm, the moments we have there, and the great hospitality of this family, the Carltons,, toward their community is my example of how one can infuse such generational love, thoughtful care, and calling even into one’s work for the benefit of others. How often we have seen others’ children light up as ours has, connecting with animals and so much more. While we cannot ask this Carlton family or a child’s family to heal any faster than it is able from recent events, all of us in your wider community pray for your healing and God to comfort for all. We care for you and all your family,...
