It is my opinion that this is one of the more premier overlooks/vistas along the Blue Ridge Parkway. No facilities or amenities but most overlooks along the parkway don’t so it shouldn’t come as any surprise. This overlook gives one a good 270 degree panoramic view of blue ridge Mtn landscape with the iconic DB to your left which was also the inspired name chosen by a brewery nested in BRM in Roseland, Va. Read moreStayed at the Devils Backbone overnight on my way down to TN. There’s a dirt road for about 500ft. Could be treacherous if it was wet. Big open lot at the end of the dirt road. Plenty of room to turn around. One other truck there. We pulled the cargo trailer in easily. Enjoyed the views on the way down the mountain in the morning. Depends on the day of how clear it is to clearly see the backbone and to the left cahas mountain as well. Plan to pack out what you pack in as well. No trash receptors.
