It is my opinion that this is one of the more premier overlooks/vistas along the Blue Ridge Parkway. No facilities or amenities but most overlooks along the parkway don’t so it shouldn’t come as any surprise. This overlook gives one a good 270 degree panoramic view of blue ridge Mtn landscape with the iconic DB to your left which was also the inspired name chosen by a brewery nested in BRM in Roseland, Va. This vista gives a one many options in capturing that ideal photograph of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background and an opportunity to capture the stunning geological features of typical mountains...

Stayed at the Devils Backbone overnight on my way down to TN. There’s a dirt road for about 500ft. Could be treacherous if it was wet. Big open lot at the end of the dirt road. Plenty of room to turn around. One other truck there. We pulled the cargo trailer in easily. Enjoyed the views on the way down the mountain in the morning. Probably could’ve stayed by the river at the base of the mountain but can’t complain with the spot we picked. Didn’t get a chance to go to the fire look out. It was a...

Plan ahead. Rode motorcycle up there. No restrooms for miles. Very spotty cell phone service. GPS works ok. Really nice view. Depends on the day of how clear it is to clearly see the backbone and to the left cahas mountain as well. Plan to pack out what you pack in as well. No trash receptors. This is an overlook point that is just a paved area off the blue...

Absolutely worth the visit. Turns out I live only 40 minutes away. It was a beautiful ride all the way there and the views there are magnificent. Easy parking- pull right off the parkway and the view is right there! There is also another Overlook called "Pine Spur" about a mile or two south from here that I didn't see on the map.
