A delightful easy trail with many picturesque spots and surprising finds of wildlife and wildflowers. The Nature Center is open F1-4, Sat & Sun 10-3:30, with interesting things to see and knowledgeable and friendly ranger. Tip: wear hiking boots even though the trail is easy. There are a a couple of spots that might be slightly slippery. We went on a dry summer day, there were a couple of places that could be hard to cross on a wet season.

This lovely trail is a scenic beauty with ample space for walkers and joggers, the trail beautifully trails up a canyon surrounded by big trees, gorgeous homes and beautiful flowers. Been here many times and I love the secluded feel since not many people are out walking on the trail. The scent of the plants/flowers permeates in the air giving such a calming feeling when hiking.

A short, quiet hike uphill along a seasonal streambed. Late winter/early spring is the time to go if you want to see water, unless it's been a dry winter. Mostly mild, some parts well shaded, others with occasional shade. The last part gets a *lot* steeper. Birds, butterflies, rabbits depending on season. LOTS OF POISON OAK. Water filling station at trailhead.

We are birders. We came here to see if we can spot anything new to us. We took the Nature trail along the completely dried creek. There are wood decks along the trail. If you are a birding, those give you opportunities to see them. We saw a flock of nesting munias on the high, bushy trees. We were hoping to see the pin-tailed whydah but didn't see any. There are lots of horse drops on the trail. Though we didn't see any peacock, they probably are in hiding because someone showed us a long and short feathers of a male peacock. The bush along the trail are tall, provide coolness and...

Who has seen the Demo Garden? It took us more than 5 visits to George Canyon to finally check it out. The Demo Garden is a hidden gem; albeit a wild one. The garden features native SoCal plants and shrubs. The garden is to the left of the Nature Center building. It’s set on a little hill top. It takes about 10 minutes to walk the trails that loop around the demo garden. It includes 2 rest areas under 2 pergolas. There is also a seating area. The wood furniture is in need of some repair though. Attention: nails we’re sticking out when we...

On December 29 my daughter and I went for a hike. When we got back to car our credit cards and money had been stolen. The thieves electronically opened the car. Immediately they spent over $6,000 between our cards. Please do not leave any valuables in your car. Lolita sherif’s said trail heads are targets. I would like to see camera in the parking lots. If you see suspicious characters take picture , please report to Lomita sheriffs. Thank...
