This welcome center is truly immaculate and well maintained. It has amazing brochures, exhibits, picnicking, dog exercising, a small playground, vending, and clean restrooms with some green recessed World Dryers and I also like the signs at the top of the mirrors. This place is 34 years old and I haven’t really been to any Illinois rest areas except for the Tollway Oases and Limestone. I love the fact that if we stop at Welcome centers, we get to explore different information about all the things in Illinois and have an assistant help us. Read moreWelcome to Illinois were the side walks need road cones and the water fountains are duct taped with garbage bags. Prepare yourself to be robbed just for driving farther down this road. Oh you have a boat well we will charge you more than double. Were is all that money going. It needs to be for the roads and rest area and you can't even do that. Read moreWe stopped here to have lunch on our way to Chicago. The facilities were clean and amenities were decent. My only downer was the state of the playground equipment on site. My older son got up on the monkey bars to use them and the entire unit swayed back and forth at least 6 inches if not more. Some of the other items were in I'll repair as well.
