This welcome center is truly immaculate and well maintained. It has amazing brochures, exhibits, picnicking, dog exercising, a small playground, vending, and clean restrooms with some green recessed World Dryers and I also like the signs at the top of the mirrors. This place is 34 years old and I haven’t really been to any Illinois rest areas except for the Tollway Oases and Limestone. I love the fact that if we stop at Welcome centers, we get to explore different information about all the things in Illinois and have an assistant help us. If you don’t need to stop here, please do....

Welcome to Illinois were the side walks need road cones and the water fountains are duct taped with garbage bags. Prepare yourself to be robbed just for driving farther down this road. Oh you have a boat well we will charge you more than double. Were is all that money going. It needs to be for the roads and rest area and you can't even do that. The bathrooms were clean but the the mirrors had words scratched in them and the sinks were so old the chrome was scratched off to brass. Maybe one of these time I won't come back to Illinois. The most corrupt state...

My older son got up on the monkey bars to use them and the entire unit swayed back and forth at least 6 inches if not more. Some of the other items were in I'll repair as well. That said it was still a good stop . Plenty of tables. Many of which were covered. We took the chance to eat lunch. Other than the playground the facility is clean and...
