I went to see A Christmas Carol Comedy starring Sarah Mackus and Mark DelGuzzo on Sunday night (12/22/24), and it was so amazing I went to see it again on Monday! A 2-person performance with Mark playing Scrooge, and Sarah playing 'everyone else' (literally!), it was a feat of acting and comedy. Of particular note was Sarah's performance, channeling characters with various accents, mannerisms, body morphing positions, and all with minimal props! Who could imagine one person playing each Cratchit family member in the Christmas dinner scene - interactively! And I could watch her do the Ghost of Christmas Present all day. I smiled and laughed throughout the whole play, as did the entire audience. Amazing acting by Sarah and Mark, and brilliant writing by Katie Leamen! While I understand that as part of the Studio Series the play was primarily performed for school audiences, I'm delighted they did the limited two-show run for general audiences. My recommendation would be to do more general audience performances - with a lot more advanced notice/advertising - audiences would be flocking in!! Oh, and it's a great theater with super...
Read moreThis is an amazing theatre company/school...I went to see my nephew's play and I was blown away at how brilliantly the acting coaches brought out the children's greatest attributes!!..That was a presentation of "Honk"...presented by a group of children approximately 12years old and under...which sounds insane..but it actually was incredibly enjoyable...I was also there a month or 2 ago to see a children's presentation of "Beauty and the Beast" which was absolyely remarkable!!..They do an amazing job coaching those kids and the building itself is both charming and warm and creates the feeling of a small and personal venue...while still encapsulating the feeling of a larger theatre!!...It is a great place and if anyone is deciding whether or not to enroll their child into one of their many programs, I would absolutely recommend that they do!!..I cannot imagine a better place to start off a career in acting and...
Read moreWe saw 3 Musketeers. Received a complimentary, small, alcoholic drink. I believe it was vodka and tart lemonade in which they added 3 drops of a dark liquid. I thought it was supposed to be a mock poison to be remeniscent of the time frame in the play. Really enjoyed the production, the theater looks like it has been restored but to a rough finish not polished. The finish of the room gives a great ambiance. Play was done well the actors even though they really worked at the play they had fun. Actors/tresses played multiple parts but you still knew what part they were playing. The horse chase towards the end was hilarious. 3 Plywood horses with blankets and the actors acted as if they were running!...
