I have been looking for 49er peaches for a long time. I used to drive to Medford Oregon to Harry & David’s get them. Then one year I drove down and was told they don’t have them any more and they pulled out all the 49er peaches trees. Last year I googled 49er peaches and came across this farm that had them. I emailed them and was told that there season was over for the year. I put a reminded on my fone for July of 2025 to check with them on the 49ers. Was not going to miss them this year. I emailed them and was told check back with us the 1st week in August we will know better at that time. I sent off an email and was told not ready yet check back in a week, they are just starting to turn color. I did and they emailed me back and said they would be ready this coming week. I got an email from lehne farms saying the 49ers are ready to be picked on the 13th. So Greg and I came over today Saturday the 16th. We picked 100 lbs, I am going be canning them for the 1st time and be making freezer jam. They were what I remembered them to be size of a softball and nice and juicy.
We had a great time there and when we checked in with the ladies there and they were amazing and super helpful. There was a lady there eating a cob of corn and it smelt so good. When we checked back in to get checked out of the peaches we picked and fresh picked corn on the cob, Greg wanted to try that corn that she was selling. OMG it is awesome.
Thanks so much Lehne and Cinda for all your emails of keeping me informed on the 49ers and all your staff you guys are the best. You don’t get this kind of customer service now adays. You have another retuning customer for years to come. I wish I would have taken some pictures of us picking and there staff, but will take some of me canning and the canned peaches when I am done. Next year I will remember to take some of us picking and there amazing Mexican corn on the cob and their amazing friendly...
Read moreNorm Lahne farms is a family owned farm in Roseburg, Oregon. Our first year living here, my inlaws took us to U Pick. It was the most fun experience we had that whole summer. I even brought my parents, visiting from Bend, and my dad had a blast! Every weekend we went out early (before it gets too hot) and pick until almost closing time. The prices of u pick produce is much less then the grocery store because the food doesnt have travel costs and employees dont have to be paid to pick and clean produce. It literally doesnt get any fresher then picking your own apples, peppers, peaches, corn, nectorines, pears, tomatoes, beets and squash, and more! taking it home and cooking it up that night! We especially love the giant anehiem peppers, because we can cook them, peel them and freeze them for winter use. I picked about 150+ in July/August and now we're in November and making chili relanos for the whole family through the holidays. I pick extra apples, corn, nectorines, peaches and zucchini for my pigs, chickens and ducks for the winter months. Can it, freeze it, eat it fresh. You cant beat the freshness, quality, and taste of produce you just picked yourself. Plus, your supporting local growers, and down right amazing folks. You will usually see Norm greeting people right out front as they stop and pay for produce. Hes always jolly and kind and even asks how the corn is doing out there, did you find all you wanted? And he'll tell you when the next batch will be open for picking. Cannot say enough good things about Lahne farms! During the winter months, they offer produce voxes for $30. It has an assortment of in season produce. We'll See you next summer...
