The Umpqua river is wonderful for relaxing at and it's annual Salmon fishing is ever so worthy of experiencing! If you've been in Roseburg, you ought know fishing is a unique way of naturally enjoying your free or vacation time. Only the forestry service preserves our forests but the DNR has minimal input in the upkeep of waterways, for some crazy reason the counties are put in control of river or lake side parks which often go unattended due to funds being diverted to other projects, write call or visit a county commissioners office to discover what concerns you if you feel things need addressing and remember it as Smokey the bear would say, "only you" can prevent forest fires, ignorance, insolence or indifference via due diligence of proof through photos, recorded notes and maybe even a survey or addendum. Fly tying and painting are big in this region...relax,enjoy and don't forget to...

The Master Gardners garden just before the entrance to the park is an amazing and educational place for the home Gardner to get some great ideas. The park itself DOESN'T allow dogs between May and September so not a great place to take the family pooch during that time. Birthday parties are always a hit here with plenty of room for little ones to run. Plus, a new improved play area for them to get some energy out on too. The river itself is nice in the summer months but use EXTREME caution when in the water. This is where two parts of the river are combining, causing a mix of some extremely cold water in the center current. This fools people into thinking the river can easily be crossed and many have lost their lives for this very reason. Swim only where you can touch the ground to be safe is my...

For the first time in my life there is a stupid parking fee at my favorite park. In the twenty years ive lived in roseburg not once did my family and i come out here and find the park empty but today it was like a ghost town. Dont get me wrong its a lovely place for kids to play and have fun but to have to pay a fee to park a car at a place thats suppose to be free and fun for families is ridiculous and makes me sad. Now my kids wont be able to play where i did because all my money goes to buying them their food, diapers, wipes and anything else they need and saving the last of it for gas for the monthm i work minuim wage amd barely get $200 a month. Barely enough to pay bills and get things my children need and now i must pay a fee for my car to be parked for my kids to pay. Whats this...

HUGE park. There is so much to do and plenty of space for events. We went to 2 playgrounds and the river. My kids loved the park! One park is gated, and the other isn't. The big wooden structure that looks like a fort isn't available and gated off. The water whales do now let out a lot of water and kinda the bigger bummer about the park.

The park is great other than the strange black sedan that kept a close watch on us the entire time we were there. Creepy! They drove back in forth a half dozen times, stopping in strange places just to sit and watch us. Upon leaving the park I noticed the car was driving up a driveway to a house next to the park.

There is lots of things to do . There's rafting, volleyball courts , horseshoe pits, Pavilions , two playgrounds, lots of parking and restrooms. It also where the North and the South Umpqua come together.
