Spring Lake Park Preserve is a hidden gem in Hastings! Winding trails, lush forests, and stunning river views. Perfect for early spring hiking, picnics, and soaking in Minnesota’s natural beauty. Absolutely loved biking the Mississippi River Trail at Spring Lake Park Reserve! The trail is smooth, wide, and perfect for both biking and walking. We rode about 10 miles and enjoyed gorgeous views of the Mississippi River, peaceful forest paths, and even passed by the bison reintroduction area. It’s not crowded, which makes the ride even more relaxing. A couple of tips: bring bug spray, sunglasses, and sunscreen since some parts are sunny and open. Parking is on gravel, but it’s easy to access. Overall, a fantastic trail for anyone looking for exercise, nature, and beautiful Minnesota scenery. Highly recommend!

A hidden jewel on the south shore of the Mississippi river, this large, manicured park has many walking trails, picnic shelters, and a nice playground for the kiddos. Our toddler grandson had a fall birthday party here and every generation had something to enjoy.

Was a pretty cool place. Id suggest the path if your biking or expect a long hike. BUT USE TICK STUFF ON DOGS AND YOURSELF! Ticks are bad this year and i made the mistake of taking my dog for a walk on the bike path not really thinking much of it, cuz im on the path right? Wrong. I usually wear bug spray and spray my dogs down with their own spray, but i forgot my stuff at home so I just went with it. I should have known better. I have since pulled two ticks off myself and 8 off my dog. (I know quite a few were dog ticks but im not sure if the smaller ones were deer ticks or not. Just be careful!) otherwise the place was nice, did a 5 mile round trip walk. The bison were not visible. Didnt see anything showing where they may have been pastured between the 3 lots but saw nothing. Might have to go again sometime soon to see if they were just hiding. Anyway yea, watch out for ticks. I dont believe they spray for them...

This is a beautiful park on the outskirts of Rosemount near the Mississippi River. It's got an archery range (permit required) and miles of biking or walking trails. There is also a camp available to rent with lodge, outdoor classroom, outdoor theater, lots of outdoor camping spaces, pit toilets, running water, and a private hiking trail. They've recently added buffalo in a large enclosure, but there's limited spots to view them, so unless you're lucky, don't expect to see them up close...
