Bellevue Dog Woods — Attraction in Ross Township

I want to first say that this is a lovely park, that is obviously well cared for and maintained. It is always clean, and they are constantly making improvements.

Unfortunately, not everyone who comes follows the rules. We've frequently seen food and toys brought in, which have caused some resource guarding issues among other dogs, despite VERY clear signage when you enter.

The last 2 times we've gone, there have been owners that have dogs with aggression issues who refuse to intervene. The first time was a dog who, according to someone else who was there, has bit several dogs and at least 1 person. Today, our time was cut short by people bringing in very small dogs who clearly did not like larger dogs - they snapped and growled at everyone - despite having an area designated for small dogs. Both owners failed to intervene, so we chose to remove ourselves for everyone's best interest.

Overall, its a great park. Just be prepared that not everyone has common sense dog ownership, read the rules, and stay...

EDIT: I totally was NOT in the bellevue dog woods when I wrote this review. There are trails down behind the actual park. The entrance to the Dog Park is by the Hockey rink! The trails are still great to take your dog on, but be a responsible dog owner. The actual dog park is really nice and there's a good group of people that go regularly. My dog did get sick there before, either from the water bowl or a tennis ball, but it was NOT bordatella according to my vet. Just some simple cold. Orig review about other trails: Nice trails, and not crowded at all (based on the two days I've been there). Some of the trails are a little overgrown but I'm sure that's just because nobody been walking them. I did encounter multiple deer, so ticks are a very real concern on these trails especially the overgrown parts with a lot of Japanese...

I love it my puppy loves it there are very nice people there but so far I meant one nasty lady who made a death threat instead of pulling the woman aside and speaking quietly she was yelling so loud she cleared the park out her name was Carol I believe her dog's name is Jazzi but I'm not sure the police had to be called unfortunately.......one badvexpirience won't stop me from taking my dog you know where you have slot of dogs these Lil spats sometimes happen.
