We had our wedding ceremony at the pagoda behind the Manor House in September and our guests stayed in the Kellogg Biological Station dorms/apartments and cottages. We have received so many compliments on this venue, and people asking, "How did you find this gem?" Having lodging right on site was so nice; it felt like a true getaway. The staff were great to work with - very helpful and responsive to our requests and questions as we were planning the wedding. The day before and day of, Danae was so helpful making sure everything was just perfect - it took a lot of stress off my shoulders to know that someone was making sure everything was going smoothly. The rehearsal dinner in the manor was lovely - great food and a beautiful setup with flowers on the tables. We received a card in the mail after the wedding from Danae and the KBS staff saying "congrats" to me and my husband and saying thank you for choosing their venue. This is a great example of their attention to detail and warmth/friendliness. Thank you!...

We live in Brooklyn, NY so our availability to see the venue and meet was limited and Nicole really worked with us to make it easy on us. It was so helpful that everything was handled in one place - from the food (which is truly delicious, guests commented on how good the appetizers and dinner both were), to the ceremony set up and the reception and dance floor - having it all managed by Nicole made it so that we didn’t have any complications trying to manage it from out of state. It made the experience so much more grounded and enjoyable to feel like it was all taken care of and we could relax and enjoy, and that is...
Read moreLovely place to stop for a scenic walk; even if you don't tour the manor, you can walk the gardens and go down the stairs behind the manor (or the ramp next to it) and enjoy the beautiful view of Gull Lake. There are a couple small trails here and you can walk the little Windmill Island and around the cabins and caretaker's cottage and such. The manor itself is grand; the details like the tile floors and the ceiling work are amazing! They have done a wonderful job restoring this to its original splendor. You don't have to spend a lot of time here to thoroughly enjoy this--it's a great place to go before or after the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary which is just a...
