Lakefront Park — Attraction in Round Lake Beach

This is a very nice and well-maintained park located right on Round Lake including Round Lake public beach there are swing sets multiple play areas for the kids including the beach with its own play area for the smaller children 2 gazebo canopy areas for holding personal events you can come and barbecue if somebody's rented the space you will have to give it up but definitely a nice place for an outing with friends and family there's recycling bins and trash cans located on the premises as well as public restrooms where is a boat dock and walk path along the edge of the lake plenty of room for fishing swimming just a multi-purpose area for friends and family parking is located along Beachview Drive and Lake Shore Drive and all of it is...

I want to say its okay if you have younger kids but I found broken glass in the sand on shore. Make sure your kiddos have water shoes to protect their feet! Was sure glad I had mine! The water didn't get too deep at the area I was at. I'm 5'11 and it just covered my legs. My hips and up were above water. Playground seemed clean and fun for kids. The bathroom didn't have toilet paper but I found a worker to get me some. There was an ice cream truck that came by. In all it was a good day. As an adult with adult friends looking for a more things geared for adult I wouldn't come back here. This would be better for families with younger kids but please be careful with the broken glass...

UPDATE: As of June 2025, the boat launch is repaired! Hopefully, people respect this resource and don't power launch anymore. Took a few laps and a float on the lake today. It's looking good and was moderately busy. Still recommended for families or short lake excursions.

Really bummed out that the boat launch is dangerous and unusable for any boat longer than 9 feet (as of July 18, 2023). I enjoyed putting my boat in here to fish and have fun with my family. Right now, you can't put anything in bigger than a waverunner.

The park looks great and the facilities are very clean and well kept. Park District does a nice job keeping the lake and surrounding area clean.
