Hi my name is Zoe and I got sent here. It was probably the most tragic experience of my life. I returned here after coming here the year before, expecting for the same fun experience, but I was in for a surprise on how horrible it would be. For the first part, the counselors were rude. My one counselor would not wash her hair. She also had absurd rules, and made up that they were just part of the camp rules but I know that they werenāt. One of her rules were we had to be completely silent and not even braid each otherās hair or make bracelets, we had to just sit in the bunks quietly after lunch every single day. One day I was enjoying myself with my friends chatting, but accidentally interrupted her and she was extremely rude. She made me go to the back of the line for the store and deprived me of the fun that I could have playing outside. On top of all of this, they would not mail our letters to our parents begging them to pick us up. Also, some of the people that we placed with were acting pretty odd. I did not feel comfortable talking to them, or even talking to my counselor at that point. I would have to say that the worst part about my camp experience was the bed situation. Every single night I would find multiple earwig bugs in my bed, which I did not know existed, until I came here. I knew that the bedding would not be perfect, but I expected it to at least be clean and not infested with all sorts of creatures. Also, one of the worst parts were the The picnic circle. They will make us wake up every day At 7 AM sharp. I felt like a Prisoner, just waiting to escape. Each morning if we were late to the picnic table circle, they would call us up and completely humiliate us by making us sing and dance infront of the entire camp. One last thing is the showers. They were completely disgusting and I felt very uncomfortable going in there. The showers were filthy The Showers were filled with mold and grime. I would like a sincere apology from This camp to me, and my two friends that I went With. This was absurd activity From, some professionals that were supposed to be staying with us. I would recommend sending your child here if you want them to be tortured and want nothing but to go home. This review is from a child who has been unfortunately sent to this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would not recommend. During a week long overnight camp, my 9 yr old son was hit on the head with a rock and they considered stitches and a concussion and I was never even notified of the injury until I picked him up days later. He was left with a painful, sore contusion on his head about a half inch long. (Even days later, I couldn't even touch the area.) When I came to pick him up the counselor informed me of the injury and said that they thought he was going to "need stitches" it was "bleeding so bad"... though I was never called. In this day and age any type of head injury needs to be taken seriously and a parent should be informed. While the camp has a nurse, a parent should always know if a child has been injured especially a head injury, end of story! update- I would also like to add that an injury report was never given to me at my request and no staff ever returned my calls or email voicing concern over the injury after my son was looked at by his pediatrician. It is my opinion that this camp does not take safety seriously. I would not recommend especially for a new camper or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat an awesome camp! My 9 year old loved the summer overnight camp. He made lots of friends, tried archery, swam in the indoor pool, did the big slip n slide, science experiments, campfires, and lots more. His only complaints were that he did a lot of walking (which was good for him), he had to wake up at 7am every day and he wanted to sleep in lol, and he said the bathrooms were stinky (to be expected with that many kids). The cabins and grounds are really nice. We will be back! As a bonus they post pictures daily for the parents...
