A great little place to get away for a while and relax. Not far down the road from a small wal-mart and other grocery stores if you forget anything - but that said if you plan to spend the night here I would try to pack your snacks and supplies well so that you don't have to make that drive. Its no fun to have to leave this place unless you are heading out to eat or shop in Round Top (which is not far and a cute little drive). Everything else you want to do too just relax and escape is on the property at Busted Oak Cellars! Friendly team of employee's, decent tasting wine, and great atmosphere. It does feel more Texas county pasture winery than California wine country - but that's what we expected before arriving and its exactly what we wanted. Would highly recommend regardless of whether you are just stopping in for one glass of wine - or spending the night in one of their cute little cabins to make a...
Read moreWe have been to a lot of wineries, but never became a member of any, until Busted Oaks. A beautiful and cozy little spot in Carmine where you can sit, relax, listen to some music and taste some of the best wine Texas has to offer! The tasting room is quaint and cozy, the outdoor decks are landscaped and comfortable and the servers treat you like royalty. My wife and I have been to most of the wineries in the hill country out towards Fredericksburg, but they got nothing on Busted Oak! You go to Busted Oak for the ambiance and good times, but you come back for the most delicious and very affordable wines ever. Whites, reds and even roses with names like Starry Nights, Renegade Red and Ricochet Rose. But don't let the fun names throw you off. All you serious Texas wine lovers out there, I challenge you to come out to Busted Oak and try some seriously good wine. It's worth the trip, every time! That's why...
Read moreWe loved this place! Tasting room was very nice and clean, and the young man serving us was so knowledgeable and friendly (son of the owners). They had nice outdoor seating, though we sat inside because of weather. For $15 we got a nice variety of 6 wines from sweet, to semi- sweet, to dry. We also got 3 bonus samples of sangrias and warm mulled wine. We ordered the delicious warm soft pretzel for $5, which comes with choice of mustard or queso (we got queso, which was very good). Nice little touches like a glass bottle of water, little chocolates, and crackers to have with tastings at table. Pleasant scenery/grounds with a water tank and a cool metal see-saw to play on ( yes, my husband and I tried it out :-) Small gift shop too! Highly...
