This is a great lake with many places to explore. Including lots of coves and multiple islands. There are many fun geocaches that can be found by boat or on foot from the camp grounds. Hyco is a smaller lake that isnt full of docks, houses, and boats. So every one gets there space. It is busy on holidays like the 4th of July and Labor Day, but on normal days it is quite calm. Hyco lake has many fish and fisherman. I have seen large catfish, many bass, and lots of small fish. Read moreSpent a long weekend on Hyco Lake 10/14-10/17, staying in a private lake house near Osmond Bridge. The lake is exceptionally clean with amazing fishing and boating! The people we encountered who live around the lake were friendly and welcoming. Every single lake house and boathouse was meticulously maintained, a sign that the community cares a great deal about the quality and atmosphere of the lake.
