I have been bringing my dog to Commons Dog Park for 6 years. Within the 6 years I’ve meet 2 different park managers. Years ago the park was attended to properly. It was green and beautiful but for the past 2 years the park has been completely neglected! This is absolutely the worst I’ve ever seen this park look like.
Proper upkeep/maintenance should be To maintain a dog park's grass (sod), you need to regularly mow frequently, clean up pet waste thoroughly, rotate usage areas by closing sections to reseed bare spots, choose dog-resistant grass varieties, and consider designated "potty areas" to minimize damage from urine concentration in specific spots; additionally, aerate and fertilize the lawn periodically to promote healthy growth. They also need to fix and replace the gates at each of the dog sections the small, the large and the medium. The mechanism is very difficult, especially for the elderly people to try to lift up. There are persons who can’t close the gates correctly and they leave them openand that’s a risk because the dogs...
Read moreGreat park. Tot lot. Went there twice: for a music concert and Shakespeare in The Park. They were both fun. Great venue... lots of open space. They're constricting 2 converted, open- air pavilions on the sides of the amphitheater. The only issue I've ever had occurred at the Shakespeare... During the intermission... the potty rooms were locked! Faux pas! I met a few folks who were in similar dire straits...I looked for someone (eventually found and opened the potty room), she took her kids into the woods. The building (which odd opened till sunset,I think, has events, conference rooms, AND potty holes 😏😁, had someone inside, but he refused to even look at us! Otherwise, with all that open space, I think more concerts would be in order- perhaps local (rock) bands- although any would be nice. One more thing. It'd somewhat of a hike to get to the stage... take your own chairs, a blanket, cooler, etc... and something with wheels if you're not in great shape to make the trek! Or if you've kiddos, get them to haul for ya! Sorry, I...
