Oh, how lovely was the morning! Radiant beamed the sun above. Bees were humming, sweet birds singing, Music ringing thru the grove, When within the shady woodland Joseph sought the God of love, When within the shady woodland Joseph sought the God of love.
Humbly kneeling, sweet appealingā āTwas the boyās first uttered prayerā When the powārs of sin assailing Filled his soul with deep despair; But undaunted, still he trusted In his Heavānly Fatherās care, But undaunted, still he trusted In his Heavānly Fatherās care.
Suddenly a light descended, Brighter far than noonday sun, And a shining, glorious pillar Oāer him fell, around him shone, While appeared two heavānly beings, God the Father and the Son, While appeared two heavānly beings, God the Father and the Son.
āJoseph, this is my Beloved; Hear him!ā Oh, how sweet the word! Josephās humble prayer was answered, And he listened to the Lord. Oh, what rapture filled his bosom, For he saw the living God, Oh, what rapture filled his bosom, For he saw...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisappointed with how this place is being run. Iāve personally been twice in the past and loved it. They played the JS movie that they play at temple square in SLC, and gave tours on large golf carts around the beautiful forest. Spoke about the feat to erect the monument etc. I have since sent family visitors two times, different years, and different seasons. Both parties had lame experiences. No movie, you can either walk the forest or drive your personal car but thereās no real tour or additional info other than signage. The lack of effort and attention here has made the drive not worth recommending. Why take your family to go look at some signs and an old stone foundation? Mind you, this place is in the middle of nowhere so itās not overwhelmed with visitors. In my humble opinion, the missionaries that gave past tours really made the experience what it was. It seems like things are getting lazy with the church and all of the modifications to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've had the privilege of visiting this remarkable location a few times now.
When my family came into town for Christmas, I knew this was one of the places I wanted to take them.
It is very low key and off the beaten path (both things I treasure). They have information about the making of the monument, including newspapers from the time of the dedication. So cool!
At Christmas time they have lights up, free hot apple cider and cookies as well as some live animals you can observe and pet (if you are lucky and brave!) My nieces and nephews loved it.
They also had a beautiful art installment with original paintings of Jesus Christ and stories from the Bible.
Definitely worth the drive...
