Weed World at Fox Cave Dispensary Consumption Lounge and Gift Shop — Attraction in Ruidoso

This trip we stopped at the Fox Cave, because we had a child with us who needed to use the restroom. It looked like an interesting place. Its built into the side of a cliff, and the store inside carries a variety of items, although most of them rocks. I'd seen it many times, but never stopped.

My friend purchased the "mining for gems" for his child, but it was not what we were expecting. We were told he would get a bucket and a bag, sift through some rough dirt and pull some rocks from it. I didn't expect him to get anything of value, just the experience of digging some dirt from a pile that had been bull dozed or dug out of a pit.

Instead he was given a sealed plastic bag of dirt, that was filled with powdery dirt/sand that you could tell had been sifted already. Inside that dirt was about 2 handful's of random rocks and stones of various colors. The dirt required almost no sifting as it passed through the screen as it was poured in.

All of us adults were underwhelmed by the experience, but the 6 year old was more than happy with the rocks that came from the dirt.

The highlight of my friend and I's visit was that they had Bawls energy drinks which you don't see a lot of places. Go figure, was a weird little stop, but don't think I'll be stopping again in the near future, unless its for another energy drink.

Geode prices were average, $3 and $4 for small ones. If your child collects rocks, this would make a decent stop. But many of the advertised attractions here are what I would consider a...

What an absolute vibe! This place has it all for the 21+ dispensary and disc golf loving crowd. Fox cave is a former tourist spot of historical significance, rife with local legend. Now it's a dispensary with a great selection, offering something for everyone, including wall to wall choices of 420 themed gifts and novelties.

Step behind the curtains and you've entered a smoking lounge that you'd think was an extention of Meow Wolf. Complete with an arcade and tv's, you could easily relax solo or with a group. Colorful and ecentric offering eye-popping fun this space is perfect for pregame partaking, before hitting the 9-hole disc golf fun course.

Both the manager and budtender were super friendly and helpful, and the lounge was stocked with any apparatus imaginable to help you enjoy your purchase.

The disc golf course is a riot. Bring a mid range, a putter and a smile, it's the putt putt disc course I've always wanted. Complete with fun obstacles and dinosaurs. A little more clean up and maintenance and this little course will be amazing. Didn't bring discs? No problem! There's some available in the store.

One last trip to the lounge to cool off and wind down before heading home. Taking it all in, this made for one of the best "roadside" experiences we've had in a very long time. If we were local, this would be our "home" dispensary, no doubt. Thank you Weed World!...
