The preserve is lovely and peaceful-a deep forest hike. However, as newcomers to this preserve, the signage/labeling was unclear with not many markers. We ended up getting very lost because unknowingly we followed an unofficial path created by locals. It emptied out into the middle of Deepwood with no further signage of any kind. Talked to a local who explained that the path we took is one that locals have created so that it is a convenient exit and entrance for them. The lady also shared that people get lost there very frequently due to lack of directions. Read moreGreat hiking over hilly and uneven terrain. This is a small preserve with 3 trails that basically leave from the parking lot and come back together at the end of the preserve. You can take one trail out and another back. Some hills but trails and bridges are in great shape. Good place if you only have a hour or so but if you have more time even better.
Please leash your dogs. I saw two different dogs unleashed and their owners thought they could control them but when the dogs saw me they left their owners. Clearly the owners did not have the control they thought they did. Please follow the signs that clearly indicate to keep your animals leashed...
