We didn’t get to explore much of this actual park, but it was the starting and ending point of our tour of Mt Graham Observatory. We met at the park, watched a video, and learned a bit about the area. We then rode in vans up to the ranger station for lunch of Subway sandwich meals and then up to the observatory area where we got fantastic tours of the three telescope facilities located there. Our docent guides were terrific and full of knowledge, interesting facts, and fun stories all the way up the mountain. Read moreAfter thoroughly searching the internet, social media, and calling (with no answer) we determined this place was opened (not closed due to COVID). Loaded up the family and arrived at 9:10 am on a Thursday to find locked doors and a closed sign but lights on. After knocking on the doors and calling twice with no answer, we left. Read moreI LOVE this place. It is an all around learning experience,but, it's fun. They have an Observatory w/20" telescope;Museum of local history;planetary walk thru that speaks to you& let's you hear sounds from space;&a 'full immersion' ride thru space from discovery park!! That's only the MAIN building. There is another ENTIRE museum of the history& native people from this area. You could spend a week here & not see all this park has to offer. A GREAT way to pique kids...
