We reserved a camp site and dock space for a Thursday to Monday stay, we ended up leaving a day early because of the wind but also because of the unwelcoming attitudes of all of the staff working on the island. To start, we arrived later than our check in time to find the electrical outlets provided at the dock that we paid for are three prong and only for larger boats. We were unable to charge anything that needed to be charged which also lead to our decision ti leave early. Upon arrival we paid for gear delivery from our boat to campsite. They gave us a time but then rushed us to hurry and help them load the gear because it was raining and they wanted to leave. They delivered half of our gear for us, mainly the heavier things we couldn't carry. Upon check in we were asked if we wanted fire wood, which we did, but they never told us where to get it or how much and we assumed that it would be delivered with our gear to the site. We were unable to get firewood until the following evening and had to cart it back to our site on our own. The bathrooms were clean, but their cleaning schedule is weird, as i had to wait for them to clean the bathroom at 8am. We enjoyed our stay despite the chaos of check in but when we checked out after 11am THE CHECK OUT TIME FOR EVERYONE ELSE, and a day early we wanted to pay for a gear pick up and they told us there was not one available until 1:30pm. The person working in the camp store made a rude comment about how a lot of other people are checking out because the weekend is over. We used the carts to pick up our gear and left feeling frustrated that such a beautiful place could have staff with such poor attitudes. More information for those who have never visited before wound have been helpful and more patienceās from the staff would have been...

Don't worry you can park your car in the Kilkare State Park parking lot and enjoy a picnic lunch while waiting for the ferry. Ride your bike to the North Shore, bring water shoes for a swim, sit and right on the rocks looking at the sail boats float by in the breeze. Enjoy the wonders all around you. Great place, maybe even book a few overnights in their cottages or campsites. A wonderful place, no...

The staff do an amazing job, grounds and sites are beautiful and well cared for and the bathrooms, though older, are some of the cleanest you'll find in any park. 10/10 experience. I recommend calling ahead of your reservation to get a run down of how things work as it is a bit of a different process camping on the island but the staff are always super helpful, even...
