10+ miles of nice beach, great for bike riding. WARNING! St. Johns County Sheriff's Office is UN-FRIENDLY TO E-BIKE RIDERS ON BEACH! I was stopped by a Sheriff's Deputy, my ID run through the system, and given a STERN WARNING! My crime: using my e-bike throttle to get through some soft, uneven sand, and presumably exceeding the 10 mph speed limit. FACT: My phone's tracking app recorded my average moving speed at 10.8 mph!!! I might add, I'm 73 years old, and I sometimes need to use the throttle instead of pedalling to reduce stress on my knees and joints. Read moreYou can park between 6-9 vehicles there, depending on size. There is not drive-on beach access. There are stairs you have to walk up and back down but the beach is unbelievably beautiful and worth it. The waves can be a tad dramatic, so be careful of tide going out (rip currents), but otherwise, breathtaking views and quiet. I'm a big girl, and I did have to take a break after walking up the stairs, to catch my breath, but like I said, it's worth it. You can see from my photos how pretty is there. I am handicapped and walk with a cane and stairs are not easy for me but it is so worth it to be at this beach. No bathrooms no showers no frills. Just a beautiful clean turquoise water beach.
