I was planning on visiting the park today for the first time, it looked like just what id been searching for and i was excited. However i saw on their website that they have different closing times depending on the time of year, seeing as i was getting close to the apparent closing time i called them to figure out for sure what time they closed. I called 3 times before somebody picked up, mind you this is still 40 minutes before the earliest close time. The woman that answered, answered in an annoyed tone, i asked what time they closed, she replied, again sounding even more annoyed and sarcastic now, "Really? Wow. Um, we close in like 30 minutes." She said it like shed been ignoring the phone the whole time and finally got annoyed, answered it, and was mad that i did all that JUST for the close times. I then asked her if i was allowed to camp off site with a tent, she laughed out loud, and said " uhhh, no you cant" like i was such an idiot for asking such a dumb question, then she apologized because "she did not mean to giggle". We hung up. I couldnt remember her name so had to call again 5 times to get someone to answer again, it was a different woman, i asked her who the woman was i spoke to before, she claimed it was herself i had spoken to, victoria, but her voice was totally different, the woman i spoke to before sounded much younger. Angie sounds familiar. Anyway, even though i would have still visited without the camping ammenity i wanted, i wont now because of the complete lack of...
Read moreHorrible experience – car broken into, no security, no support, ruined our family vacation
We visited Moss Park on Saturday, July 12th around 3:40 PM for a family birthday celebration. We parked in the back area of the park, right in front of the pavilion where the party was taking place.
In less than 30 minutes, someone smashed our car window and stole my purse, which had all of my and my husband’s important documents.
We immediately called the police, and while they responded, the park staff offered no help at all. They said they had no cameras, saw nothing, and didn’t even provide a report or any kind of real support.
The worst part was that our children were crying and extremely nervous. What was supposed to be a joyful family moment turned into a traumatic and stressful experience that completely ruined our vacation.
This park has zero security measures and clearly no concern for visitor safety. We will never return, and we strongly advise others to be very cautious if you choose to go. You are completely...
Read morePros: Very picturesque and during my experience, all of my neighbors were very quiet and respectful as well. Tons of wildlife. Deer walk through the campground every night. Clean restrooms. No alcohol or pets allowed, nice!!! The price is right, even as a resident of a different county. Cons: You are in the flight path of Orlando Int'l all day and all night, but get used to the noise quickly. Biting ants, bring ant spray. No store onsite for ice, firewood or incidentals. There's no swimming. Privacy between some sites is not what it should be. I felt very awkward moving about my camper with a group of men and boys in the site next to me with clear sight lines. Do your due diligence when booking. Be sure you have a Sunpass, you can't drive anywhere without going on a toll road. For me, the pros outweigh the cons, always...
