I'm not sure that I saw the rock itself ... there were rocks all around, none of them very impressive. To get to the beach you have to go down a short dirt road to a small parking area. Most passenger cars shouldn't have a problem. The small beach is beautiful and there were only a few people there when I visited. Early August and the water was like a bath ... a 22,000 sq mile bath. The water is shallow for quite some ways, good for kids and poor swimmers. The beach and lake-bottom are mostly small rocks thus painful to the feet. Easily accessible with a short smooth walking path from the parking lot down to the beach, and of...

I hope to go back in the summer to actually see the rock someday. The beach here has a nice path uphill through the woods to the lighthouse. Its not too steep and still accessible in the winter. I loved the signs and with the history of the area and the cutouts. A great trip for the family. You are also able to get a different view of Mackinac Bridge from...
