Beautiful Nature for sure! Loved reading about the trails and the battle and the showing of Indian artifacts on board before you walk in. We so loved this place came here often for a little picnic and relaxation. Outside in Nature fish jumping birds flying singing. Butterflies fluttering by so beautifully as well as the dragonflies. The Osprey and Bald Eagles oh what a sight. We always took our little dog Panda❤️😁 he sure loved it too!

Always pretty nice with the furthest south paved boat ramp in Hillsborough County. No bathrooms or docks. Single ramp. With the increased growth in our local population and number of boaters you can expect it to be busy, especially on weekends. For courtesies sake to speed up getting in the water get your boat loaded for your trip while in line to launch. Just a friendly suggestion. Be cautious, safe and have fun!

Great free boat and kayak launch. Park at your own risk but I've never had any trouble there. There is a nice kayak trail. Many islands and sand bars. There is access to the bay and the sky is the limit on where you can go. Boat ramp courtesy is expected. Theres a garbage dumpster and 1 park bench. You can fish from the launch areas also

This place is a fisherman’s paradise. First, Cockroach Bay Preserve State Park offers visitors use of a free boat ramp and free parking for trucks and trailers. Second, within minutes after launching your boat, you can start fishing the nearby mangroves or, if you're after the “big one”, you can take off to the big waters. But you don't have to go far for good fishing. A few of the fish you can catch at Cockroach Bay are redfish, trout, and tarpon. If you're lucky, one of the better catches you’ll make is meeting Billy Wheat, a local fish biologist who will tell you about the manatees and dolphinS at Cockroach Bay. Billy is a staple at Cockroach Bay and you’ll likely find him there with his dog, Barn, doing research on fish. Consider yourself lucky if Billy and his dog Barn are there when you’re bringing in your catch from the day. Talk to Billy. He’s a very informative and knowledgable guy. He is the kind of a guy you want to sit have a beer and some laughs with. Back to the review! If you are a photographer this place is right up your alley. You can spot birds, wildlife and beautiful scenery. Don’t...

A little bit off the beaten path for sure. The parking is pretty much side of the road style, wether you're putting a boat in the water or not. I was able to get a 27ft sailboat with a 48 inch keel out of the water on a trailer here if that helps. Word to the wise....don't leave anything unattended or it could come up missing. Bring lots of bug spray....both the mosquitoes and the no-seeums are ruthless in the morning and...
