Beautiful place to visit! They have miles of trails to go on and it is great for pictures (professional or nature-based). There are turtles, butterflies, and other beautiful creatures all over the place! There is also a road with soft pavement where you can long board or roller blade on. The trails extend in all different directions, and there is also a museum located on the premises that will tell you the history behind Weedon. In addition, there is a gift shop and plenty of parking. There are also canoe and kayak rentals on the premises (not part of Weedon but third party) that you can pay to utilize as well. There is a boat ramp at the very end of the park where you can take out a boat, kayak or canoe. Great place for running, hiking or...

A lush and educational preserved and protected 3700 acres called the WIPCNHC. This beautiful gem in Pinellas County is on the National Register of Historic Places. You can enjoy what is left of wild lands that have been preserved and we cannot get back if not protected. This is an archaeological gateway and historical library. It is rich with the area's wildlife, fauna and was owned by Dr. Weedon many years long ago. From environmental to cultural resources that are still there today to beautiful lands preserved for all time, this is a timeless and unique piece of our heritage. It is free to the public w/ hiking trails, classes, observational studies, kayaking, nature walks and...

As a lifelong paddler, born-and-raised Floridian, and admirer of Florida's first peoples, this site is a great place to be exposed to both nature and education on cultural history---well, the limited remains the First Peoples that inhabited this place a millenia ago left behind. For modern humans of European extraction, Florida presented quite the challenge to settle whereas the First Peoples managed to not just survive but thrive in this estuarine environment. No canals, no mosquito control, how did they do it? Get an inkling from the center, once it is open again. Kids with an interest and attention span will get a lot out of this center, those with less will need some...

Fsbulous preserve. Lots of hiking paths and done are paved. Beautiful stunning views of bays & inlets. Lots of birds, fish and other wildlife. Great viewing area that is elevated. Walk along mangroves that make you feel you are far away from city hustle. There is a put in for kayaks & canoes. You can even rent. When driving in look for the ospery nests & these large birds. Nice visitor center. It is not open every day so you may want to check web page. I have taken a camer a hike and also attended an archaeology seminar here. There is a rest room close to visitor center. Great places along the paths to sit & contemplate the beauty. Just love it here.
