The intention in going here was to get to the highest point on the island of St. Thomas and take good pictures.

That part was a piece of cake and they even have a souvenir shop that is supposedly renowned for their banana daiquiris; at the entrance it's posted that they've served millions of them, although that is not necessarily an indictment of their goodness, trust me.

If I am understanding things correctly, your view is looking mostly north toward the Atlantic Ocean and you'll be able to see Magen's Beach from a height that rivals the roof of 1 World Trade in Manhattan...! The remainder of the view is similarly impressive, as is the souvenir shop.

Now about those daiquiris.

They serve these banana daiquiris that are reasonably tasty (I don't really care for alcohol and the daiquiri itself could've been sweeter or something else to make it more agreeable to my palate), but don't seem to have much kick; at least not initially, but give it 15-30 minutes and the rum will rear its head in a most unexpected fashion.

Fortunately, I wasn't driving and the tour guide (who wasn't really boring before) became even more charming temporarily until we reached Coki Beach where I had to take chill pill and work on my year-round tan.

I got back in gear about 60-75 minutes after plopping down on my beach chair, but the combination of rum, heat, humidity and sunlight readied me for a brief nap at my hotel room and some local curry chicken with spinach and rice at one of the downtown eateries when I re-emerged.

Not a bad day, if you know...

We’ve been to St. Thomas multiple times, but this was our first time visiting Mountain Top. I wish we stopped by on our earlier visits. It’s a great tourist destination, as it has the best and largest gift shop I’ve seen on the island. They have everything here for shopping, and the items seem like good quality. They have an amazing supply of apparel (hats, t-shirts, keepsakes, jewelry, sweatshirts, etc.), rum, and gifts. Pricing is what you’d expect at a tourist shop, but everything seemed reasonably priced.

And the bar at the back has nice options for everyone. If you like bananas, you have to try their frozen banana daiquiris, which they’re famous for. They have other drink options as well.

Then be sure to take in the amazing sights from their balcony which has unmatched views of Magens Bay and the BVI’s. It’s probably the highest point on the island of St. Thomas, so you can’t beat the views. We came on a day without cruise ships in town and it was a little overcast, so there were very few people there. There was ample parking too. The drive up was tricky, but manageable.

Give yourself enough time to shop and enjoy a cocktail while taking in the beautiful views! You...

Total tourist trap! Not a true restaurant - just a snack shop (we saw only bagged chips, nothing else in sight). The good: THE VIEW WAS AMZING!! Also good: lots of St Thomas memorabilia, good selection of jewelry, and lots of trinkets. NOT SIZE INCLUSIVE - tons of S to XL clothing; they only had two racks of low quality plus size (2XL to 4XL) - compared to the other offerings (hundreds), this was quite sad. The banana daiquiri wasn’t what I expected for the hype, although it was good - but similar to other drinks I’ve had on the island. We were able to get alcohol and virgin daiquiris for the kids. A nice shop if you’re looking for memorabilia in only S-XL sizes. Beautiful views - come for that, but don’t...
