For a Salem resident this is a great location. Swimming, or just laying out on the beach, lighthouse and camping, fishing or just lazying about. Resident can buy a pass that is good for 2 years and for non residents it's no more to visit than the other much more crowded beaches within an hours drive. Very family friendly but remember if your four legged family member comes along they can't visit the beach and have to be leashed. 4 stars here because to actually walk to the lighthouse it costs $10 for parking. The small store is cash only so be ready for that too. There are a few picnic tables to enjoy the view with and a bunch of -what looked like- full RV spots.
