Jerry Ivey is a wonderful park. It has a great play area for children, a dirt path all around the park that is great for jogging or walking, a beautiful gazebo, water feature, butterfly garden, and more. You can always find geese and ducks swimming in the water and walking around the pond. You can reserve either of the large shelter houses through Salina Parks and Recreation (for a fee). There are also a number of smaller, non-reservable shelter houses around the park. This park also has a small water play area open during the summer. It has a neat walking path through the trees on the south side and plenty of areas to play games and exercise. It has a basketball court, a volleyball court, and I think a tennis court, as well as a large area of open grass to play about in. I have been to this park many times for family reunions, birthday parties, lunch-hours, and just hanging out with friends. It is beautiful and I could not be more...
Read moreA large 23-acre park honoring a fallen Police Officer, located on the southeast edge of town. This park features a lot, Spray Park for the kids, playgrounds, restrooms, picnic shelters, tennis courts, basketball courts, gazebo, and trails. With lots of lush green lawns to relax on, trees for shade, it's a great place to take a walk, or just relax and take in the beauty. For the kids, there is an excellent spray park during the summer months, a large playground with nice equipment. At one time, there was a large pond located in the center of the park. Sadly, it had to go for the health of the community as it filled with green algae during the warmer months. With or without the pond, Jerry Ivy is a great park for this community. It is one of my favorite parks to take an early...
Read moreJerry Ivey is a pretty nice park, there's a nice walking trail that takes you through a tunnel of trees and there is a pond where there are geese. It got a little sprinkler park for the kids and plenty of places to sit and have a picnic. There's lots of nice trees, it's not a huge park but it's a nice park. Historically it's not an old park, it was put up probably in the late 70s early 80s to memorialize a police officer named Jerry Ivey that was killed in the line of duty, here in Salina Kansas.
There is a tennis court, basketball court there's lots of covered shelters. If you have little kids or even if you just want to sit at the water and watch the geese and take a walk on the...
