As a trusted Washington State real estate agent with over a decade of experience, I, Niks from Niks Real Estate, take great pleasure in sharing insights about local attractions. It's my passion to review wonderful places for newcomers looking to enjoy the best of what our area has to offer.
Sammamish Landing Park is a wonderful place to enjoy some quiet time and watch beautiful sunsets over Lake Sammamish. While parking can be tight on nice days due to the high number of visitors, the stunning views and serene environment make it worth the effort.
The Sammamish River Trail is excellent for walking, running, or biking, offering flat terrain and scenic lake views. It conveniently connects Redmond to Issaquah, making it perfect for both short rides and long-distance training sessions.
For families with children, it's important to be mindful of fast-moving bikers. Ensure everyone rides in a single file and stays predictable to those coming up behind.

Read moreThis is a small but very pretty new park on the East Lake Sammamish Trail. There are 2 large docks and 4 covered picnic tables with grills. Lots of waterfont to walk around in and smaller trails in the "woods." The sparkling new restrooms are a great improvement over the previous port-o-lets. Although the city and county have done much to provide parking on the ELS Parkway to access the park, it's still a little dicey (and dangerous being right next to a lane of moving traffic). There's definitely not enough parking for crowds on warm summer days. There's a small parking lot right across the Parkway that holds maybe 20 cars. Crossing the Parkway to and from that lot is via a flashing crosswalk and one can only hope that the two-way traffic will stop! I gave this a 4-star rating (rather than 5) mainly due to the...
Read moreSammamish Landing is the only publicly accessible beach access to Lake Sammamish within the city limits of Sammamish. Completed in 2013, the beach and swimming dock offer two picnic tables and charcoal barbeque under a gazebo. The water at this location is clearer than most other accessible places around the lake making this dock a great spot for swimming. From the dock, you'll have an excellent view of Mt Rainier. The dock tends to be popular with families during the weekday before noon before being taken over by co-ed sun bathers by late afternoon. Weekends are pretty packed, but I always seem to find a place to sit down and the swimming area itself is never crowded. Parking is difficult along Lake Sammamish, but this should improve with ongoing...
