Definitely a great park to being your dog to for socialization! It can get pretty busy, but there is plenty of parking and so far that hasn't been an issue. Tons of area for the dogs to run around, a pavillion to sit under, equal amounts of shade and sun, and plenty of benches too. I also like the fact it has a paved sidewalk/trail loop and plenty of poop baggies and trashcans. So far most people seem to be good about picking up after their dogs. Again, it can get pretty busy so if it is your dog's first time it may get a bit overwhelming for them! They do have a small dog section as well and a giant open field that people sometimes unleash their dogs at and let them chase balls, frisbees, etc. No gate or fence on that part however. My dog loves it and is always tuckered out after a visit!

My partner and I absolutely love coming to McAllister dog Park! Every time we go our big old dork of a girl comes home happy and worn out. The people there are friendly and the park is generally pretty clean. Sometimes people don't pick up their dogs leaving, but it's rare to find one. There's usually quite a few balls around for the dogs to play with. We've not so far had any negative encounters with the other dogs. Often it's our dofus that gets a bit carried away because she doesn't realize how big she is. We enjoy coming out Saturday mornings to let her run around and burn off some energy. We usually park over by the large field so we can take a walk around the outer edge to get what rambunctious energy she has left out before we load her in the car to go home.

Absolutely love this dog park! I was in search of a dog park for my Italian Greyhound, Cairo and he loved it! Everyone there is friendly and their dogs are as well. It’s a great place to socialize your fur baby. They provide doggy bags for you to pick up after your pup, but some people don’t. Don’t be that person! I have yet to check out the trails at the park, but the dog park itself has two sections. One for large dogs and one for small dogs. The small dog section is small and doesn’t have anything as far as play goes. So, I take my dog to the large dog section, which has EVERYTHING! Super fun! Water fountains are available to keep your pup hydrated as well.

Update: Nov 29 2022 another broken window in one of the vehicles in the park. And I still frequently see the crumbled automobile glass in the parking lot. The dog park is great...lots of trees with nice paved trails for humans and many areas for the dogs to romp. BUT today, June 1 2022, just after 10am I saw another car with a broken window. That is at least the 5th time in the last 12 months that I've seen remnants of shattered glass around the parking lot. So it definitely isn't a safe place to park.

Update: Jan 18 2023 I've noticed a couple of break-ins since my Nov post, and today another one.... this time my car. They broke out the rear passenger window, nothing inside the car worth taking, but because of the tinted windows I guess they had to break it to look. It seems to be an almost weekly occurrence . Be careful, don't leave anything visible on the seats, don't leave anything valuable like wallets, purses, electronics,...

The little dog area is very small, (about the size of a backyard, I think the dog park at my apartment complex is bigger), but that isn't too big of a problem, because little dogs do fine mixing in the big dog area, which has a lot of room and so many things to do.

The people are nice and let their dogs be dogs, even if they are playing rough, so long as everyone is just playing and not fighting. And the owners can be trusted to be able to tell difference. So if you aren't super confident in your ability to read a dog's body language you can take cues from those around you.

The owners seem to help each other out, they'll run the water fountain for other people's dogs and help break up or redirect dogs that are getting too rough, which is really nice in such a big area since it's easy to lose sight of your dog, especially if they start chasing someone else's dog. I think one guy even cleaned up after...

If you have a death wish for your dog, go to this park. We have been going to this park for the last six months. We have nothing, but problems with dog owners who are on their phones, laptops, chatting with other people, etc... aka the distracted owners. Our dog is very sweet and friendly. He plays well with other dogs, but some dogs are super aggressive at this park. Our dog got attacked too many times at this park. The owners laugh it off thinking it is ok for a dog to bite down on another dog’s legs or neck. I am not talking about a playful nip. This is prying off jaws from our dog. We try to be nice and tell the owners of these aggressive dogs to watch their dogs. But these owners do not care. They look at you like they are stupid and have no common sense. If you decide to venture this park, keep your eyes on your dog and be at...
